Hello, I have a 1975 260z. It drives fine around town but on the freeway once I get to about 55 the rpms start slowly dropping until eventually I have to pull over. I turn off the car, turn it back on and it runs ok again. My first guess was that it was a bad fuel filter so, feeling confident, I went out and bought a new one and changed it out. The car started right up at first but eventually it sucked up all the fuel in the lines but no new fuel is coming from the tank. I know I installed the filter the correct way, so that cant be it. Is this due to air being in the fuel lines? Or did I break the fuel pump? Maybe both? Any help would be great.

If anyone is lucky enough to have or know anyone who owns a Z432, I would love to have some detailed pics of the throttle linkage on the firewall where the rod comes through from the pedal to the carbs. I'm installing a RB25DE but with ITB's on the right hand side and not sure how to re do the linkage without going to a cable (last resort). I would appreciate any help!

Had the e-brake cable assembly fail, so brakes engaged at freeway speed. Notice smoke from rear of car, pulled over and the rear brakes were basically on fire. Here's the question, along with replacing the pads, wheel cylinders, spring assemblies and such, should I also replace the bearings? Seems to me the heat would have damaged them. I only want to dissasemble this once. Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm putting together my coil overs. The washer on the bottom is welded on. My question is, do I weld the threaded sleeve to the washer or just let it sit on top? It seems like it should be welded.

All, I have a 1971 240Z that has a mystery brake illness. Here is what has happend and what has been done. I bought this car a couple months ago. Had a Datsun mechanic go through it. I had a leaking brake master and front caliper with black break fluid. We have gone through 3 master's and I have new calipers in the front and I still do not have very good brake pedal pressure. When we are bleeding them on the lift the brake feels firm but as soon as I start the engine the pedal fades and nearly goes to the floor. I still have breaks but not near what they were before we changed the master. Here is what we have done: New Sanyco master. Yes the bleeder valves on the c…

Hey everyone, I recently replaced the tranny in my 240z and I cant seem to get it into gear. The tranny shifts fine with the car off, but once I turn it on I can't enter any gear and reverse grinds. I replaced the Slave cylinder, but I wasn't quite sure exactly where it needs to be adjusted (gravity bled it cause I didnt have another person). The car doesn't seem to have much if any pedal pressure, and looking at the clutch master cylinder from in the car there seems to be a little bit of fluid coming from the stopper. I recently filled the front resevoir of the brake master cylinder and now its competely empty. Would this cause a lack in pedal pressure? What are your tho…

After chasing vacume leaks for a while I recently figured out why my heater controls wern't working. The main source magnet valve is "shot". I've been told just to bypass it and it's no big deal. I was told that the valve is only used to keep the settings accurate right after startup. I'm looking for a new or used valve but does anyone know what this valve is for and what detriment there will be to bypassing it? thanks, Steve

My friend's looking at a cheap 280z in the area, owner says all it needs is an floorpans, an AFM, and a new battery. The pictures look alright and we're going to check it out this weekend. I was pretty sure the AFM was compatible but another friend of mine told me they changed the AFM's every 3 years or so with the L28 series. Can anyone give me some insight on this? If the AFM doesn't work would I have to change other things in order to get the AFM to work on the car? Plan is to pick up the car and drive it home if possible. Thanks in advance.

I am working on stopping fumes from coming inside my '73 240Z. I am replacing the hatch rubber seals, both upper and lower. I have a question about my tail pipe. The end of the tail pipe is 3 1/4 inches from the end of the rear bumper. If I extend the tail pipe to the end of the bumper, will this help with the fumes problem as well? Thanks.
