I have a 1983 280zx non turbo. It has an in line fuel pump. Two days ago, I started the car, and it went out (the fuel pump). As I was driving down the road, the car started sputtering, and it would die if I gave it gas. Eventually it stopped running. When I would try to start it, there was no noise coming from the fuel pump, and the car would idle really low (4 or 500 rpm) for a few seconds, then die. I replaced the fuel pump. I can hear the fuel pump now, and when I started the car it ran great for a few minutes, then I turned it off. I replaced the fuel filter, and I started the car again. First it started idleing low again, and now it wont start at all. What should I …

I have a 1973 240Z and the #2 cylinder is not firing. I have checked the spark plug and the spark plug wire and they seem to be okay. I am concerned that I may not be getting enough spark. What should I try next? Thanks, KayceeZ

I know that I keep on posting these things but im totally stressed out over this whole heater deal. I got the car a week ago and its already under the weather. So my question is do i need the vacume heater control valve or can i just put a manuel valve on that opens and closes with the cable? Or should I just fork out the 120 bucks and buy a new vaccum control valve. Wel let me know what you guys think???

Well after cleaning the fuel pipes/lines out, replacing the spark plugs, and replacing the fuel filter my car died on me on my way home from school. I was in 3rd gear then all of a sudden it started bucking like crazy and then It wouldn't let me shift the gears. When I coasted for a little I was able to shift but the idle was horrible so I went to 1st gear and it chugged at 1K rpm which I kept it at until it died on the side of the road. (the car is F/I 83zx l28e) I waited a few minutes and tried to start it but i was only able to keep it rolling in first gear as it sputtered dead. i just picket up a datsun z that seemed to run good. but it has a couple of lights on. of the light i only able to read one of them. the light that says sensor... but there is one red light it 1/2inch square i have no idea what it is. there are no words or writing on it. the dash is in pretty crappy shape. can any one tell me what the red light is?

Hi; I have a little problem with my 1978 280-Z. I won't say that my tach won't work because it dosen't matter if it's running or shut off it reads 3000 RPM and that's where it stays. I think I have checked out the wiring and can't find anything visable wrong. Could this be terminal for the tach or does some one have a fix. The car only has just over 39000 kilometres on it (24000miles). Mel

Hi, Can someone tell me how to wire the Water Temperature Switch for my car. I have a 1975 280Z. It is a California model,, not sure if that is important. The wires for the Water Temperature Switch was broken and I am not sure how the original connection was. I believe there are two wires coming out of the Water Temperature Switch.. Black and Red. The black would be grounded?? and the red wire??? I look forward to your feedback. Thanks.

I have replaced all of the gas tank vent hoses (all 5 for a CA car!!!). I'm trying to get the evap tank back in the well. Do the large vent hoses go behind or in front of the filler neck? I'm fighting it big-time Can I eliminate the evap tank on a CA car? The gas tank has 4 hoses coming from it.

i have a 1972 240z i was running the car and it was idling rough, and then it suddenly died. now i can't start the car even if i try jumping it. none of the electrical works, not the hazards, headlights, brake lights, nothing. is this a voltage regulator problem?

I was going to do some stuff on my 280zx, and i was wondering which size wheels would be the best. Right now i have 15x7 centerline wheels and i have alot of space between the tires and the wheel mold :mad:. I have Eibach Springs, so my car is only about 5-7 inches off the ground :nervous:.
