So I just got the car to drive. It normally runs beautifully but on my way to work yesterday i was about 8 miles out and only a half mile from home, and poof it died. Well maybe not poof but it lost power started to studder then just died. So I got to work called a tow and had them drop it off. Went back out about 2 hours after it had been dropped off and tried to start it. After cranking a few times it started right up. It did the same thing on the ride home too, but I went a different way home so I could park at my friends house. When I got there the car died again. Went out today after work and it started right up again. I'm just wondering if my fuel pump might be goi…

Hi there, I am having trouble with my 1975 280Z. I just bought this car and am trying to understand this beauty. I saved it from going to the junker. (: Here are my observations followed by my questions.: 1). The original wire to the fuel pump does not have any power. The previous owner ran a wire directly from this rectagular white block in the engine compartment next to the coil, it seems, to the fuel pump. I don't what that block is called. It is rectangular, white, and has a wire from the coil going to it and other wires attached as well. When I turn the ignition to "On" the fuel pump comes on. 2). The fuel pump RELAY clicks when I turn the ignition on. 3). …

Hey guys, I know Borg-Warner made 2 versions of the T-5 used in the 280zx. One of them was used for the Mustangs of that era if I'm not mistaken and I was wondering, since T-5s for the Z are so hard to come by if you can use the Ford T-5 instead? I would think there's an adapter or something you can get, but I wouldn't know where to look to buy one. Any info?

I was trying to put my throttle boot on tonight & tore it. I was trying to slide it over the ball when it tore. I wasn't using any silicone, it was dry. I've heard that the end may come off & you could put it back on but I didn't see how & didn't want to try & figure it out. I've got another new one around somewhere but for $10 I'll just order another one rather than looking for it.

Has anyone tried the cold air intakes on Ebay. If so do they seem to improve performance and gas milage as claimed.

78 280z. Cannot find EFI relay. Haynes efi troubleshooting manual says it is near drivers kickpanel above control box. This would be other side of firewall from dropdown resistors. It is not there. Clymer manual ambiguous as to exact location as well. Wiring schematic shows just off control box. Wrong. Any ideas. Thanks for informed advice.

Today I freaked when I saw the temp gauge was absolutely pegged off the charts when driving home.. the oil pressure was fine and the car ran normal so I pulled over, checked for leaks (none) and drove home. Let car cool down completely (4 hours), popped radiator cap (full), checked oil (fine), so I restarted the car (started immediately) - gauge again went from normal (dead cold) to immediately pegging off the charts. Never did this before today - I'm thinking it is the Water Temperature Sending Unit but want to ask the question before I get the part in from MSA.. anyone else run into this problem before? My '73 has the original gauges and I will assume has the original s…

Lost Zed keys whilst moving house. Looked everywhere but they are gone gone gone. So I wrote down the key codes on the sticker located inside the glovebox. Local Nissan dealer is useless.....a waste of space!!! Local locksmith is a goodin. He looked up his computer and cut the ignition key from just the number I supplied him. Door key is a different matter. The code is 4 digits long. He says that it should start with a letter. It sure doesn't. Do all S30's have 4 digit lock codes?
