My heat is broken on my 78 280z. I thought it was the valve on the outlet from the heater core at the water pump. I pulled the vacuum line and antifreeze poured out of the line. This doesn't seem right to me. Should I replace the valve? If not, does anyone have any thought as to what I should do next? what could be causing the vacuum line to be sucking up the coolant?

I've got a 1978 280z 2+2. Can anyone suggest a place for me to get a second set of keys? Do Nissan dealerships make duplicates of Datsun keys? I just want to have a second set for backup.

I've got loud valve noise, and have set about adjusting them, but have run into a slight problem. This is a N42 head, and the intake is supposed to be .025 and exhaust .030 when set hot, .020 and .025 when cold. I'm setting hot. Was able to set cylinder 1 ok, but moving to cylinder 5, I can't get adequate clearance even with the adjuster as low as it can go. Do I wait for the engine to cool and then try or what? Thanks in advance for the help!

I stumbled across a car shop near my area that is selling a 280zx turbo engine with auto tranny? I already have a 5spd from a 78 z. The owner said it is running and is ready to go inside my z. He is selling it for 300 dollars... Could i take off my stock su's and place them onto that engine? or will I have to go triple mikunis? Since its an automatic. The owner will give me a plate from a 280zx tranny to fit my z. I was wondering on your inputs and suggestions? Thanks Andy:knockedou

So I am finally getting around to puttin my 240z back together after paint and I am installing the windows. I have a problem though I dont know/remeber where the little roller goes. I am talking about the small piece that has a roller on it. It seems like it hangs somwhere in the door but I dont remember where? Any pictures or comments where it goes or if I have to mount it will be very useful. Keith

Hey guys, Picked up a 72 240z recently and when I hit the key I get absolutely nothing (no clicking, etc). I bought a new ignition switch and threw that in today but still, nothing and no noise. Right now I have a jumper going from the + on the battery and the + on the coil with a jumper on the solenoid that I tap on the + of the battery. With this hooked up the car starts fine. When I try the key with the coil jumper hooked up, some of the interior dash lights go on (brake light and gauges work) and I get some clicking from the key. When I turn the key to start with the jumpers, the volt meter moves and the dash lights die (battery needs to be charged). At this point im …

Hello and how u doing? my question is, how do i post a thread or topic dat am looking answer for. i have problem dat i need help with. i am a owner of a 1976 datsun 280z. the car has a new battery but for some reason, when i turn the key to ACC the stereo doesnt turn on and when i trun the key the second time to ON all the function doesnt come and it cant start. but whenever i turn the key, i can hear a clickin sound under the dash by the passenger seat. pls help me. i have checked the fuse. i noticed dat there is power on the battery side and no power on the ACC and IGNition side. ok yesterday my battery blew due to a bad voltage regulator....and fried a wire....i replaced the wire and battery and voltage regulator but didnt wanna start. So i checked if it was sparking , the coil seemed to be sparking but there was no spark when i took out the spark plugs i checked my points but they are new so is the condenser i need help cuz i need to get my car running could it be my dizzy?

I have a question about my '77 Nissan 280z that I'm trying to fix. Why isn't there any power going to the fuel injectors? It starts for like one second, but then it just shuts off. Could it be a relay? If it is, would anybody know where it's located at? and what kind of relay it is? If anybody knows what to do, please give me some advice I would appreciate it. Thanks!

while repairing the lights on my 83 zx i made the mistake of taking off the spring clip which holds the stout little spring on the column below the steering wheel as it didn't see like the combo switch/stalk unit would come off otherwise. fixed the lights but now can't get the spring in place. anyone have thoughts on what to do for this.
