ok, my car has new injectors,new fuel regulator, new distributor cap, cleaned out tank, new fuel pump, fuses, and it was made into a push button start before i bought it it did run before then when day i was driving it then i parked it and it would not start it used to flood then it just stopped and now doesn't flood at all i think it might be the ignition or something electrical for a short time if i sprayed carborator cleaner into the intake it would run for a few seconds but if i touched the gas it would stall http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2787190 this is a site with some pictures

....the fuel system. I am not starting the car, simply turning the key to the ON position. You will hear the pump energize and then an incredibly loud BANG! It only happens occasionally and the car will start up and idle fine afterwards. Most of the time when I energize the fueling system nothing happens, but when it does go BANG! it scares the crap outta me. I have checked all over for fuel leaks, etc. and do not see anything. It HAS to be fuel system related as that is the ONLY thing that is energized when the key is in the ON position. Anyone have ANY idea what the @(#&$(@#& it is? I am stumped.

Ok this sounds really stupid because it's only suction. When I pull the trigger, nothing is coming out of my sand blaster! It's a craftman. (3 gal?) Pressure is at 60psi and the hopper is half filled with sand. I know I should be using media but it's just the undercarriage so I don't care about it. Anybody know what's going on?

i have a '72 240z and when i start it up, it's fine, but when i open the throttle and let up the clutch, the engine rpms will drop, and it will either die, or hover around 200 rpm until it goes back up to around normal. i have the choke open, so that's not the problem.. does anyone have any idea what's going on, or how to fix it?

Hi My son is looking to get his 1st car and is nuts about a Z. There is a sweet, clean, low mi stock 1978 2+2 in OR, but before we snatch it up and drive it down, what do I need to check on the car to make sure CA DMV will smog and register it? Does it absolutely have to be a "California" car? Thanks for your help John

I got my tank off the car yesterday and it had about a 1/4 tank of gas that was left in it since 1988. The tank is gunked up and and rusty. I power washed it and got a good bit of stuff out of it, but it still looks nasty. The only product I've found that looks decent is the POR-15 kit. I've looked for a replacement tank, but none of the aftermarket companies show them in inventory (72 240z). Motorsport shows the tank marked with an A which I guess means it may or may not be in stock. Would I be better off to try and find a decent tank, or use the POR-15?

i have a '72 240z. when i crank the engine, it takes a while to start, and then when it starts it will only go up to around 300 or 400 rpm, and if you touch the gas, it stalls. if you wait, sometimes it'll stall, sometimes it'll get up to speed, but once it's hovering around 1000 rpm, if you touch the gas it'll stall. i do not have an air filter, would that have anything to do with it, and also, would an air filter from a '76 280z fit on my '72?

I've perused around the old Z's for some time now and I've found one that I might possibly want to get into. The seller has a 1976 280Z which has a newer low mileage 83 280ZX motor installed. Great. Fine. Except for one thing. Apparently the car needs a new wiring harness, so when the motor was swapped, the mechanic for the guy rigged the car to start and it does and runs exceptionally, but the turn signals and most of the gauges DO NOT work. The speedo and voltmeter both work and so do the hazards, cabin lights, headlights and tailights. Question. What am I getting myself into here? I talked to a Z specialist here in TN and he says that the 83 and 76 L28s were vastly dif…

My rear running lights will not come on. The rear blinkers and stop lights work, I've checked the fuses and they appear fine, I chedked the bulbs and they seem fine. Please HELP, with the time change it's dark before I get off work and this has me carless..Ugh... Thanks in advance for the help KCDC
