Im having trouble with my stock 77 280z. I tried to start it the other day and it wouldn't fire. After some investigating found that it was flooding, badly. This problem came out of nowhere. I've seen some posts around saying that an ECU or Air flow meter could cause this but I thought i'd see what you guys think the problem is. Please Help

Hi all, I am fairly new here, looked up a few searches on a variety of subjects and I think this forum is fantastic. I hope I am posting in the correct area for some general questions. I bought a '77 280 on Ebay(long story) but I am finally able to get around to doing a few things and was wondering if any of you could point me in the right direction on a couple issues. I plan on doing a few things to the interior first to get it all the kinks out, new steering wheel, reupholstering/new foam for the seats and other than that, I need to replace the non functioning radio and straighten out my gauge issues. First is the clock, I did a search on here and found the great lin…

I'm not sure I have the correct distributor base (support, as Nissan calls it) for my '76, with the single magnetic pickup. Can anyone either post a picture or point me towards one already existing? Also, a pic of the correct little flat plate between the base and the distributor would also be nice. I have a couple of each and am not sure either one is right. thanks

Hey all...I am new to the site but not a newb to auto forums! I did a search and couldnt find this problem! So my uncle has a 240...all original and he is the only owner. I am helping fix things cuz when I get a house...I can take the car from him...hehe..MINE! So he called me and said the car is having an ignition problem...for the lack of a better term. He says when he starts the car its fine, but when he turns it off and to the lock position...the car starts itself back up! It even runs while the is out. What could this problem be? I told him my theory was that since it is all original wiring, it is possible that the wires are bare somewhere along the line and are touc…

Does a 1981 280ZX non-turbo 5-speed come equipped with an R200 LSD or merely an open differential? Thanks in advance, Frank

I have an early 1972 parts car and I am attempting to remove the headlight buckets. They are composite, not metal so I am trying to be real careful. I have removed all the bolts that I can see and still no movement. Do I have to remove the headlight itself from behind? Are there fasteners in the backside of the bucket. I am frustrated to say the least.:nervous: Thanks for any help and or advice. John

Hi - I just purchased a remanufactured Brake Booster and New Vacumm Check Valve. I'm installing them this weekend . My question is: What direction does the Vacumm Check Valve get installed? There is an ARROW and "E" marking on the gray port pointing toward the black port. Observations: When I blow into the Gray Port - air passes, when I pull vacumm on the Gray port - air is blocked. When I blow into the Black Port - No Air passes (it's blocked), when I pull vacumm on the Black Port - air passes. Any help and guidance is appreciated...Many thanks.

I have posted a request in the classifieds, but I am looking to locate these parts ASAP, so I have posted here ... I am really having trouble locating left and right inner tie rods for my 1975 280z. The are NLA everywhere I have called in the US and Z Barn hasn't returned two e-mails I sent. I am really in need of these parts. ... I can use the steering parts from any 74 and above car to 78. The Nissan parts numbers are: 48510-E8700 for the right side (Assy Rod Side RH) 46630-E8700 for the left side (Assy Rod Side LH) You can see Courtesy Nissan has them listed but not available. You can see the photo for reference. http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Scre…

I recently purchased a 72 240z, knowing there were more than a few bugs. I have a few that I am hoping some of you have input on or experience with. Behold, the list: 1. Electical: The stereo (and usually headlights) go off (briefly) when hitting a large bump (especially when going slow). This appears to happen when braking at times, also. A simple short in the system or part of a larger electical problem? The stereo always turns off when the hazzards are on. 2. Engine (oil): the pressure guage can, at times, go all the way to zero, when idling. Seems to be okay (relatively) when driving at various speeds. There is also an oil leak that is more significant after longer d…
