Hi I bought a few days ago a pair of aftermarket JDM headlight covers with metal rings. My 240z is an early 1971 and I nottest that he has 1 headlight fiberglass bucket and one metal. The question is should I trade one of them to have them equaly? Does it fits better in metal ones only? Does the fiberglass hold the rivet nuts well Here is the link that I read that. http://rudel87-web.hp.infoseek.co.jp/covers/lightcovers.html If I should trade, I appreciate to buy one of them to put it on my car. If anyone has it (buckets) for sale I might buy it. Thank You Filipe Azevedo

Out of the blue today, the Z began giving me woes. I was on the freeway, I had just shifted into fifth, and I could all of a sudden feel what I can only describe as 'surges' the car would be pulling, and then it would be as though it's dying, and then pulling strong again, and then dying. I quickly got off the freeway, and on the exit, back in first gear, I could feel the same thing more noticeably. I took another turn, and then all of a sudden it was fine for a while. It started doing it again at a stop, I could see the tach bouncing up and down. At home I popped the hood and started pushing on the throttle linkage a bit, if I barely pushed it in, the RPMs would go do…

Did any of you electronic ignition guys use the white trigger wire or the violet and green trigger setup for the dizzy, also where did you pick up your tach signal? Trying to install one this am!

I was wondering if the 240z had a rear main seal. Is it 1 one piece or multiple piece? I am trying to track down an oil leak thats around my oil pan gasket near the transmission. If it does, does someone know the part number?

Hello Everyone. Have I got a new problem for all. My husband used to be a member- MDC75. He told me that if this happened to our Z car then I would be screwed. Well my worst fear has happened. I went to pull the hood latch on my 75 280 and the cable broke!!! Is there anyone that has had this happen to them & what was their solution? Thank you very much. I finally got all the old gaskets off the round tops that were bolted to another manifold. I hooked up the linkage and I was feeling good until I realized that things don't match exactly right. First, I realized the screw that limited the return motion (attached to the egr) does not hit the pad on the firewall throttle (not sure how to call it) shaft. It looks like the pad is supposed to oppose a screw. But, it doesn't match the flat-top assembly and I don't know what the earlier style looks like. Is this a problem? The picture below looks like it has the flat-top stopper. What is the function of this screw? Second, when I fiddles with the assembly a bit, I realized…

71 240Z, all stock. I get no spark from the coil. I've changed out the points for a known good set, same with condensor. Using a test light, I have power at both sides of the coil. I changed it out for another, I believe to be good, not sure. With ignition on, points open, I have power to both sides of the coil. Where do I go from here? It's been a couple of days since I tried last, and I can't remember what I had with points closed. I want to be sure that everything is operating correctly to the coil before I condemn it. Devin

It runs great when its running! just takes awhile to get it going......Whats the problem i want it to start on the first turn!!! Please help! Keith
