Does anyone know where I can get a replacement defrost lamp and wire harness. My lamp is broken. Don't know if I did that putting in a new engine or if it was that way when I got the car several months ago. None of the searches in the local junk yards come up with anything. This is what it looks like Thanks

I just purchased a 73Z in fairly good condition. I have already enjoyed getting several interior features to work again. I have 2 keys, one that says Nissan Motor on it and one is a copy. Neither key unlocks/locks the 4 locks that the owners manual tells me it should. (the original owners manual was in the glove box) I understand that Nissan can cut a new key if you have a key code. I've looked all over the car and can't find what appears to be a key code. Do any of you know where to find the key code? Does Nissan have a VIN database that could give me this information? Thanks.

I have a stock '72 & I need some help securing the metal fuel lines & brake lines to the firewall & engine bay. First, is there anywhere to buy new/reproduction rubber mounts that secure the lines in the brackets? The ones I have that didn't break, aren't very pliable. I have them in the car, but not seated & tightened down in the rubber mounts & brackets. I was wondering if there was a particular order in the the lines must go in the rubber seating that goes to the frame rail & firewall. It seems like it can be really easy to get them twisted & have them not fit right. I've spent quite a bit of time looking through the photo gallery to no …

I encountered this problem last week. I was driving home from work. Stopped to pick something up from the store, very briefly. When I got back into my car, it would not start. Lights worked (were not dim), gauges worked and everything, but car would not even turn over. I heard a clicking noise from the passenger side of the dash. After a few minutes of checking things out it started right up. Have had this happen twice since then. Same scenario. The last time this happened, I also notice my cd player was not working. And not my gauges; battery volts gauge, clock/ timer and my oil pressure gauge are not working regularly. Some times the volt gauge will be …

OK, over the last three days, my garage has been overwhelmed with the smell of fuel. Vehicle is a stock series II 1971 240Z running twin round-tops. This coincided with my changing the fuel filter as my car was hesitating around 3,500 RPM (this went away after the change but seemed to re-appear tonight). I installed new rubber fuel lines on both side of the filter as the originals appeared to be just that (37 years old and very original...). I have checked at the front end around the filter and there are no signs of a leak there. Tonight I crawled under the back end and below are the photo's of what I found: Shot 1: Note the top left portion circled in yellow as th…

I wouldn't call this an emergency, but I do need to get my car stripped before the welder comes next week to work on it. I can't get my rear hatch to come loose. I removed the four 12mm bolts (broke the last one of course) and it won't come off. The hinges seem to move around in their pockets, but won't seem to come free. I know I have removed at least one hatch prior to this because I remember doing so and it is sitting in my garage. I look at the hinges on it and they don't seem to have had anything but the four bolts holding them on. What am I missing? I have wiggled it, cajoled and cursed, but to no avail. It's starting to make me feel stupid - I finally gave up aroun…

Put a new steering wheel on my 72 240(Restored original) and in the process the plastic piece that actually holds the horn button broke. It has been cracked for a long time. I looked on the parts list and I believe it is called the insulator-contact cup. Cannot get one OEM, so I am looking for one. Anyone have an extra that they would be willing to sell? Thanks in advance. John

Thanks guys for the help,I figured it out. It was so simple that it was stupid. I was fixing to pull the motor out and for some strange reason i decided to pull the valve cover. And there it was, a rocker arm had come loose. So i checked it out with another one i had and it was just wore out. So i replaced it and she runs fine. But i suspect the others are not far behind failure either, so i will replace all of them tomorrow. I am still confused though, because i checked all of the rockers before it started smoking and they all seemed to be in working order. Every thing seems to be back to normal, nosmoke no missing and she will run very well, all though i am afraid to pu…
