like when i start it up it runs fine for about a minute or soo...then when i shift and i press the clutch the rpm's may go up about 1500 rpms ,..but i had a idle isue a while back where it would idle high soo i attached a sping on to the hood lock thing and the other end to the accelerator bar thing,...well it is better ,...but the only way to make it not do that is before i shift i let off the gas,for a while then i shift and the rpms fall like allways like normal ,... oh and its a 78 280z 4 speed fuel injected,..i was thinkin it way be the clutch or some thing with a vacum hose,...and i was wondering what would be the best clutch for an L28 for raceing,..and if theres a…

I noticed a few days ago that my horn decided to stop working. All it does now when I push the horn pad is go "click click click" a bunch of times. I checked the fuse for it assuming that was case, but it looked fine. I'm not a big horn user so it doesn't matter much to me, but I just noticed it when I was passing somebody I knew and when I tried to honk all it went was "click click click". Any how, I was just wondering if the horn itself is blown or what and wondered if there's some connection that may be causing it.

In another post I got good advice to keep the 280 engine out of my 76' 280. That way I will have another engine if the 240 in my 72' goes bad or if I get bored and want another project that week. However, what else should I scavage from the 280 for the 240? How about the transmission or the electrical crap? Finally, what to do with the 280? Hate to take it to the wrecking yard. Anyone want one for heap cheap, say $ 500.00? One owner z.

I have a 72' 240 that I am restoring and I have a 76 280 with a damaged front end. The engine just had a top end overhaul and runs great. I was thinking of taking the 280 to a junk yard after pulling the engine. But I would only do that if the engine could go in the 240 if I ever need to do that. It is either that or just sell the 280 as is for $ 500.00, which is all I have into it. Any thoughts on this or anyone want to buy a 280? ScottyZ

Hey guys, haven't posted in this part of the forums yet, but i have to now!! When driving on the freeway, i'll be speeding up to 70, and then when i pull my foot a little back on the gas, the car stays at the last position i was at. ( basically feels like the thottle gets stuck). But, if I tap the pedal the car begins to slow down. I've done some reading and thought it could be the throttle springs (i think) but I've never worked on carbed cars before. hi i have a 78 280z which i just bought, I just installed new injector connectors ( i just cut off the old ones and connected the new ones, someone on zcar.com told me that it didn't matter which wire went where) these are the connectors i used well it seems to run fine now but when i turn on the ac whilst i am driving when i de-accelerate it stalls and dies, like i turned the key over. so i came home and turned the ac on while it idled, it was fine idling normal soon as gave it a little gas, it just dies. anybody got any ideas?

Okay, I finally got all of the A/C components removed from my '71, now I have a big hole in the fan housing.... Is there a part available to cover this hole, or do I have to make one myself? Anybody that has done this have any advice as to how to go about this? Materials, patterns, etc?? How about finding a new housing or fan unit? are they available? and if so, are they affordable? can anyone tell me why my and many models of nissans--will lose the oil film on the cylinder walls and not crank----take the plugs out add some oil--turn it over and it fires and runs fine--my 90 300z has done this twice on me--but after talking to my buddy at nissan specialties --he says he see's it all the time---does anyone know what is causing this???????

Should I be running Supreme Gasoline or high octance gas in my 1971 240z? I just rebuilt the engine and was wondering what kind of gas I should put in it?
