I got in today for a ride and she barely turned over and started. Volt meter showed 12-13 but rapidly fell. I shut her off and waited about an hour and then tried again but to no avail...wouldn't even try to turn over. Battery and alternator have recently checked out to be o.k. Any Ideas would be appreciated... Chris

Today I replaced the heater core and vac lines as they were not even close to the diagram from what the PO. had done. Problem is I can only hold vacuum pressure with the S line from the heater control manifold connected directly to the vac source on the engine. All functions work properly an dholds cav pressure . Once I connect the Ac solinoids the system no longer pulls vac pressure .The bottle does hold pressure on it's own so I am at a loss as to why no pressure. It's a 1977 with factory AC if anyone can help .Thanks

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I finally got my engine all back together and in the car and got to the point of starting it. It cranked for about 5-10 seconds then stopped. I thought it was the battery, but I've had it on a charger for over an hour and still nothing. I can see the engine move a little when the starter teeth engage the flywheel, so the starter is def. moving. Is it possible for the engine to sieze with only turning that long? Is there a way to check if its siezed without pulling it and taking it apart? What should I do next? thanks in advance

Whenever it rains out, water will drip inside the car from underneath the dash only on the passenger side. We just had new weather stripping put on and this didn't solve the problem. Today when I was washing it, we used the hose to try and figure out where it was comming it. When we'd poor the water over the cowling on the passenger side, water would start to immediatley drip in underneath the dash. We toor all the carpet out on the passenger side to let it all dry out since the carpet got soaked. Is there a hose or a gasket that is underneath the cowling that could be causing water get underneath the dash? Or even rought that would be causing this? I'll be taking the cow…

Maybe there was nothing on it, but that seems odd, although I can't find anything to connect it to. Its just above the battery on the engine side of the harness. 4 prongs.

Where do they go? I took my engine out 9 months ago, and am finally getting it back for Zdayz. I think the positive and fusible link go to the + on the starter selonoid, and the negative goes to the upper starter mounting bolt. Is that correct? (negative cable not yet installed)

The time has come to put an end to the worlds longest engine build! I have actually started assembly on my 3.1L stroker! WHOO HOO! Actually this morning my wife helped me put the head on the block. Right now I am putting together the timing chain, but I have noticed a couple of differences between my turbo, F-54 , block and the regular block that is used in the "How to Rebuild your Datsun OHC Engine". First of all the regular block has a chain oiler that sticks out from the block and obviously oils the chain. As far as I can tell there is no provision for this on my block. Does anyone know how the chain gets oiled on this block? Second, the book says to use the …

I just got my car back from the shop where they adjusted the valves and now it seems like i am having problems when i try to maintain a low around town speed. Everything seems to work great until i stop accelerating and try to maintain pretty much any speed. sends my body into a rocking motion abck & forth until i hit the gas again and the it all ok again; which seems like nothing other than a good way to start raking in some speeding tickets. . By the way, i am in Calif. so all of the emission equipment is intact, there is a semi-high performance cam installed which is why the valves needed to be adjusted in the first place. The machanic did recommend a tune-up befor…
