Here's the scoop: On my way home from work today, I had the fan on high, and it just stopped working. Besides installing the honda civic fan, that circuit is stock. I swapped out all fuses one by one, and it never came back on...by the way, which fuse is for the fan? I'd guess it's the bottom right one, 'common' I think it's labeled. Anyways, it never did come back on, I only drove about 2 miles when this happened. On Saturday, I converted the alternator from original to the 280zx 60 amp brand new alternator and also modified the voltage reg plug with the diode exactly the way Dave and Arne have done with their plug, but I chose to just soldier mine instead. Have no clue…

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated! I'm sorry if I sound unfamiliar with stuff, but I'm a girl who hasn't had mechanic classes, but want to try to fix the basic stuff myself. The main situation is that my tail lights & dash console lights are out. for the tail lights- i checked the bulbs, so i'm hoping it's a fuse problem. none of my manuals show a specific fuse list/guide for a datsun 240z. i need to replace the back tail lights, the dash console light (speedometer, oil meter, etc), the clock, and the cigarette lighter. i went into kragen auto parts and they said they needed to know *what color of fuse and type (male/female)* to order for me. i'm hopi…

My new to me 74 260 Z auto had been in storage 15+ until now... I installed new plugs, dist cap, rotor, coil, wires, fuel filter, battery, and a new belt to get my new Z to finally come back to life. My spark is great at the coil, but is lacking at the plugs. It seems plugs 3,4, and 5 get better spark than 1 and 6. My timing is good and firing order is correct but she runs rough. If I let her idle and warm up, she idle up and down as the other cyclinders kick in... and then sometimes it just shuts off. Starting it back up with a few pumps on the gas or little choke and running again for a while. Both fuel pumps are working and plenty of fuel getting to carbs. HELP…

Good morning to all. As I go deeper into the Z world I have seen topics that there is a voice box within the car to remind you about open doors and such. I have looked at all of my documentation and can not find any on this as to where it is. At present mine is not working. If some one could time me where it is located that would be helpful. My ride is a 1983 280ZX.

Argh.... maybe time to invest in a torque wrench... Anyway, I was bolting on a new water pump, was very pleased with the seal, all was going well, when one of the bolts snapped. I probably wouldn't even be posting here except that it was one of the two long ones, (upper, thinner of the two long shaft bolts). Should I be concerned about this? When I removed the old one, it was missing at least one mounting bolt, and it definitely feels snug and secure, so I am not terribly concerned about the pump itself, I am just not 100% certain what else that bolt may be responsible for (I am guessing it is just extra security for the front engine cap...). Anyway, is this something …
