Thanks for reading my post; I appreciate it. I am installing 2 new door rubber gaskets. The old ones I have now have the ends down in the middle of the rocker panel area. If I install the new gaskets (the cheapo's from VB)..the bag labeled for left, if installed on the left, would have the ends ending somewhere around the front edge of the door, I would say about half way down, near the level where the hood release is. Which way would everyone recommend? Which way is standard, and what is all of your opinions? I would think it wouldn't matter....but if the ends come off on the front side, I wouldn't want to do that...it would look better imo if the ends were not in the mi…

So yeah the only thing that is keeping my z off the road right now is the connector that goes between the EGR and the EGR pipe broke and I can't find a replacement. I would like to know if there is anyway to bypass it Because I seen headers that don't have to hole for it and I'd just buy one of those. Or if there is anyone that has one that I can buy off them. I really need help on this one.

One of my long term goals is to re-do the wiring in my car and I happened on this ready-to-close auction on e-bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240z-240-z-OEM-Wiring-Harness-Complete-Uncut_W0QQitemZ320054447174QQihZ011QQcategoryZ10076QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Is there a reliable way to know if this will fit in my 7/73 (no A/C) car? It would be nice to have and stash away until I can take on the whole project, as it appears to be in decent shape and thay aren't too easy to come by. Thanks! -m

I hot wired my BCDD but I know that I did it incorrectly. I have it wired directly off the battery so it's a constant on. The battery is now dead on the car and I thinking that it's due to the BCDD being wired this way. What is the correct way to wire the BCDD so it's not a drain on the battery. I know the BCDD is bad since the car now idles down when shifting.

Looking for a replacement radio that is either genuine stock or a good look-alike for a 1976 280Z? Any help is appreciated.

Hey guys, I was curious if you guys could post a picture or two of how the battery is supported with the clamp for a 280z? Right now we have the battery bungee corded down, but my dad and I can't seem to figure out the way the two parts go back on again. Here's a picture of the parts that I'm talking about.

The Coil on my Z is fine, but when I go to start it, I don't get any fire from my coil. My restrictor is also fine. I traced the wires down and I can't seem to find the problem. I am a new owner of a 1974 260 Z, and I have no "How-to" or "do it yourself" books to help me. So, any suggestions would be welcome. I NEED MY CAR FIXED! Help! I can't get to work without it!!! I miss driving it really bad. :sleepy: :disappoin

After my 73 240Z sits for more than a couple days it is hard to start. I wonder if I'm having a problem similar to that as posted by Mark Dixon where the mechanical fuel pump takes a while to prime the fuel lines. HD240Z...you indicated that you corrected your problem by adding an electric fuel pump. Could you advise me as to the type and manufacturer of your electric fuel pump. My car used to have the OEM type electric pump added by the dealer to fix the 73's fuel problems but it had long since died and I didn't add one back after doing my restoration. And now I see that the OEM pumps are way expensive.... By the Way .....I'm also running duel Weber DGV carbs. Woul…

here we go again!! 76 280z L28 efi... it keeps getting this really loud buzzing sound from the fuel pump. it started about a month ago...it was making a slight buzzing noise and then just basically flooded itself and crapped out on me on the road...i waited about 15 min and it started up again just fine, but blew out gobs of black smoke and smelled really rich. so i drove it to the auto parts store and replaced the fuel pump (cuz thats were all the noise was comin from). worked great for about 2 weeks and did the same thing again..noise starts out very slight and gets raging loud over a couple of days and then starts to flood itself again. i finally bent down and felt…

Greetings to all. I have been searching/researching the installation of an electric fuel pump on my 01/71 for a few days, on this and other sites, and I have have found where and how to install the pump and to which wire it should be connected, as well as where the power should be connected on the T connector behind the pass. side of the radio. What I have not found, and I am asking because I am a complete moron when it comes to vehicle electrical systems, is: 1) How, exactly, would one run a power line from the oil pressure sender to the T connector? Would the extra electrical load of the fuel pump inhibit the operation of the sender? Those are some small guage wires, I…
