I have a 71' 240z. My A/C and heater worked great, my blower worked after I found a loose black wire under the dash and bolted it to some metal. I took my car to get the frame rail replaced, which they did a good job on. Of course they had to remove the engine and A/C compressor. I didn't replace the freon in the A/C so I was unable to test that afterwords. But now my blower doesn't work. I checked the fuse, but other than that I don't know why it won't work now. Any ideas?

I can't get a charge to the battery in my 77 280. I have a new battery, altenator and regulator. With the motor running I put a voltmeter ( Fluke series 3 multimeter ) and get no reading. I have taken it to the parts store and have had it tested in the car several times with it showing no charge going to the battery. I took it home did the A to F test with the voltmeter and got nothing. I took it out went to the parts store and it bench tested good. At this time I got a new battery and put them back in the car. Still no charge to the battery. Put a new regulator in still no charge to the battery. Did a continuity test on the WR conection from the alt. to the WR conection …

I have a 240 engine that is in the process of being rebuilt. I am told that the engine has been rebuilt before and that I need pistons that are .040 over the standard bore. My problem is that I am unable to find them. Does anyone have a set to sell, or know where I can find them?

I've had the '77 280z since Jan but as it's been a work in progress it never got cranked when it was cold until now as the temp here in TN has dropped. The mechanic that I had do some work on it told me that these cars are notorious for being cold natured. Is this the case ? I cranked it on Mon mrng to drive to work and it immediately died. It recranked again but died again. On the 3rd try it stayed cranked. My concern is 1) are all fuel inj Z cars like this 2) do I have an easily fixable problem....once it gets warm it's fine except for my idle problem which has been with the car since I got it...going to try to eliminate this idle problem soon.

Can I disable this to solve my idle problem? If so are there any problems resulting from this?

I am in the final throws of re-assembling my front suspension. Everything is on save for the front passenger hub. When I initially seat the hub on the spindle, it will rotate freely without a sound. However, when I fully seat the hub in the correct location, I get a severe grinding noise coming from the back. If I HAND tighten the nut so that the hub has no lateral free play, the hub is very hard to turn and there is an awful grinding noise. At times the hub will completely bind up. Does the back lip of the hub have a tight clearance with the spindle face? Previous POs have hammered on this lip a bit and it is uneven. Could the deformations on the lip be rubbing/bi…

I have a couple shop questions. First off, I know that you have to be really careful with the old fluids and they have to be properly disposed of. When draining the fluids, do you need to keep them seperate or can they all go into the same plastic container for disposal? What are some good containers or drain tubs to use and where do you dispose of the old fluids? 2nd Question. I don't own any airtools. Would getting a 2HP 6 gallon air compressor be a useful tool for working on cars or would it be underpowered and useless? For those of you who use air tools, what would be some good ones to have on hand besides an air wrench? I am still about 2 weeks away from picki…

Have a 77 280Z and the clutch plate broke and am installing a new centerforce 1 clutch which works with all stock parts. Have unbolted everything and just need to get the driveshaft out to drop the tranny down to get at the clutch. The U-joint has locking snap rings that dont have holes for snap ring pliers, which I have never seen before, so no clue how to get the ujoint out to get the driveshaft out to drop the tranny and so on and so on....help please, this is my only means of transportation and can't afford to have it done professionally....please write back to me either on here or at slobound76@yahoo.com. Thanks
