Hi, I was hoping for some help. A bit of a story. Restoring a 73. I had to replace the wiring harnesses all the way around. Basically I had to purchase 2 of each and piece one together. I was moving right along till I tried to start her. The voltage regulator shorted out the chasis. I forgot to install the plastic piece behind it. I purchased a new regulator. Installed it, but here is the problem. Horn, lights and flashers all work intermittently. Flashers and horn work better than lights. I have traced power throughout the car and there is power going everywhere except when they are not working. When they are not there is power going to the relays but nothing…

Can anyone help with a problem I'm having with my (280z) electronic fuel injection system? There's something that I'm just not getting to or seeing, and this is even after reading between the lines of the service manual. my 72 is breathing new life after being stored for the last six years,forgot how much I love my Z! Anyways evey thing seems too be working good except for a miss in three hole. I have been through the fireing order many times, run the valves both hot and cold and I can't get it to go away. It sounds like a very poorly adjusted rocker tick tick tick tick, when I pull the plug wire off it stops making that awful noise and definatly draws down the engine. I checked the plug wires,there all good.I checked the plug in the three hole its also fine. any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. as stated, ive went through 2 belts now. and i tighten them down (not overly tight) and the work for awhile. then if i drive at night and turn on my headlights, the belt squeals like a "live pig in the fire". so i get out, belt has a lot of play. i adjust the alt. mount. drive for antoher few days. same thing will occur. could it be the lock washers on the sliding mount? i didnt use new ones. didnt change the alt either. just been using the one that came with the car. oh yes, it is a 81' ZX. and there is no leaks from the water pump. the belts used are good quality. the only other thing i can think of is if the pulleys are off balance? but when in motion the belts dont se…

hi guys, i'm planning to change my stock speedometer with a new one (z-series). do i have to take the dash board or dash fascia out. if there a way i can just take the speedometer out without taking the dash bard out. anyone have any idea how to easiely take out the speedometer? thanks...........!

I have a auto 76 that badly needs a new repaleced tranny. I have a original one in there right now. Should I buy a used tranny or just spend the money on rebuilding a new one?

Anyone know if you can remove the hydraulic lines between the pump and the steering head without taking half the car apart. I've got everything loose but can't work the lines out. seems like the a/c compressor at least needs to be out of there. If you got a trick please let me know.

I have a 74 260z, I put all the basics on for a tune-up. Had a mechanic adjust the carbs. He suggusted running carb cleaner thru gas tank. Runs alot better. Hard to start when cold, acts like its flooded. Have to hold gas pedal to floor for it too start. Been reading threads on carbs. Checked to see if choke was working. Seems ok, but when car running and putting on choke, it doesn't change the engine at all. Any help? 74-260z RLS30-011578

How do you do it??? Manual I have says to adjust idle air screw but I can't find anything on the engine that looks like the picture. Saw a post about changing the AFM around but couldn't seem to relocate that.

Car rough idles, replaced PCV/Fuel Filter/Air Filter/Plugs. Car is automatic. It also acts like the battery is dead then fires right up! Passed California Smog with fantastic numbers..... Any ideas?

I am planning on getting some spring next week and was wondering if i should go with MSA or Eibach. I will also be getting tokiko shocks. Anyone have any experience with any or info they want to share would be great. I don't know if this helps but i will also be installing Sport Max 15X8 sometime after i get my springs and shocks. Thanks for the help
