Okay, so i took my 77 280Z into the shop to get the ball joints replaced as well as my front struts. While it was there, a fuel hose connecting to my fuel filter apparently had a bit of a leak, so they tightened down the clap. I got the car back today and now it will not idle any slower than 2300rpm. I tried adjusting the idle screw as well as looked around for anything obvious. Aside from tightening that clamp, they didn't do anything else under the hood. Before I took it in I had no problems like this. I was idling at 800rpms nothing was wrong. I took it back and had them look at it and they cannot figure out whats wrong. Anyone here have any suggestions as to w…

I just got a 260z, in really good condition. It has some quirks. For example, although it drove to my house, i cant get it started. My dad said it may be the soilnode? I know very little about cars. Any ideas? Also, how do i figure out the value in case i want to sell it? Thanks.

have a 77 280z and was cruising down the highway and had to get on the brakes pretty hard due to incredibly slow car on the offramp, she was purring like a kitten until the slowdown then started running horrible, would barely remain running. while running there was a real strong fuel odor and black smoke coming from the tail pipe. got her home and pulled the spark plugs and one was real black and there was oil in the plug hole. thinking blown piston rings maybe? anyone had this problem? thoughts, ideas?

Please help me! I am a relatively new member and I need to know how bad this is. I was fitting my headers to the head and when I got them into place I noticed that one of the exhaust flanges rubs the engine mount bracket. It looks like the headers go all the way on and are situated in the right place, but it touches that bracket. Is this going to cause a problem with vibrations while driving or hitting bumps?

After I run for 8-10 miles with the A/C on the vehicle starts to surge. Either losing ignition or fuel too lean/rich. Turn off A/C immediatley starts running fine. Turn a/c on vehicle surges. I can turn the thermostat up to high and the surging continues but that should eliminate anything electrical with the compressor and it isn't seizing up. Vehicle runs normally when first using a/c needs certain amount of run time for problem to arise. I looked at all the vacuum hoses I could find and they appear to be sound. Car is an 81 turbo with a 5speed conversion, 138K on the clock. Runs really nice other than the a/c problem. Believe injectors/fuel pump okay cause I ca…
