So on Friday i decided to tackly my suspension finally. The plan was new polygraphite bushings from PST, struts, wheel bearings, ball joints and tie rod ends and probably something I am forgetting. I started with the rear on Friday. The drivers pivot pin was a pain, but finally came out once I got angry enough. The passengers side wan't as fun. I started with the classic hammer. IT FAILED I got a bigger hammer, 5lb sledge IT FAILED I got a bigger hammer, 20lb sledge It FAILED I cut the pin off the control arm and maxed out a 20 ton press and heated IT FAILED Time to think. . . ouch . . . Nothing to lose. . . Drill the pin out. My machinist friend and I set it up…

I found a new way to remove the rear control arm bushings. Like other ways: Torch the bushings to remove the inner sleeve. Then use a 1" drill to remove the rubber. Instead of using a hack saw to cut the pressed in sleeve, try this. Use a dremal with a cutt-off disk on it. I actually stack 3-4 cut-off disks. Run the dremal in and out of the sleeve slowly grinding away at the length of the sleeve in one area. You may say "but what if I grind through then I am screwed." If you go slowly enough and don't stay in one area for too long you wont have a problem. When it starts to get thin slow down and watch the sleeve where you are grinding. You are looking for it to…

Hey everyone. I need to replace my clutch on a 1980 280zx. I have never done it before, but I have been thinking of doing it. All I have to guide me is my handy haynes book. I dont have any Idea on what it is going to consist of and how long it will take. I priced a clutch kit and its was 136.00. One a scale of 1 to 10, how hard is it, 10 being the hardest. If you have any advice or hints about doing it let me know before I get started. Thanks, Steve

I have a low pulse in the #6 injector, I bought a new injector for it but still the same low ticking sound coming from it. Could this be the dropping resistor or the ECU? Thanks Also the #5 has a low tick too. From what I understand is that both #5 and #6 run off of the same resistor, is this true and how can I test the resistors?

I am planning on replacing the manual trans in my 72 240z with a manual. I want to keep it as stock as possible. What are the pros/cons of a 4 speed vs a 5 speed? Which one do most people recommend and why?

help! just installed su's on my 73 now it looks ok,linkage moves properly, butterfly moves ok choke seems ok. as soon as it starts it runns wide open, is there something internal that could be stuck. also have read here that you should use the larger spacers but the studs were to short to get the nuts started,so I used the smaller ones, could this be a problem? thanks Doug

Hi all (and apologies if this post belongs somewhere else, but I've run out of alternatives) Anyway, does anyone know the precise weight of an R180 Longnose (without 1/2 shafts)? I've been given a lot of guesses, but I absolutely must have the exact weight! TIA ...
