I want to install a temporary vacuum gauge and I'm not sure where to hook it up. I have a L28 240Z triple 40 DCOE-18 weber set-up with a cannon intake. The only place I can think of installing is at the brake booster but have read not to do it there?? I don't want to drill and tap a hole. Why can't I use it at the brake booster?

One of my fuel tank straps on my 240z is broken, and I need to find a replacement. I am currently using a 280z tank for an L28 swap. The only place that I have found that sells tank straps is TheZStore.com but they are for the 280Z, and they're 30 bucks a piece!!. Is there any where else to get these, and/or will these fit my car? I've checked Courtesy Nissan, Zparts.com, and Rockauto as well and I can't find anything.

Heres where I am: New floors/rockers/rails are in. Rear wheel wells stripped of old undercoating and freshly POR'd. Front inners POR'd. Car is rolling chassis only, but engine still has fuel and brake lines and booster and clutch/brake cylinders are still there. Here was my plan: Remove fuel/brake lines, and strip engine bay, clean it out, POR it, then tie-coat prime it. THEN send rolling shell off to body shop to prep/paint. Heres my problem: I cant get the fuel/brake lines out easily without removing the differential. It's still there, and it looks like if I take it out, I gotta drop the whole rear suspension. Hey guys, car wont start after the SU swap. No fuel getting to the fual lines going into carbs. Haven't tried using starter fluid yet, and battery has been losing its power, so gotta get some starte fluid and a battery charger. Also, last pic has a hose that runs with the fuel lines and looks like it might end at the carbon canister, anyone plug this up or do away with the whole line?

So I replaced my flat tops on my 73 w/ round tops and now I am getting absolutely no gas. I was getting gas before the swap, but now NOTHING. I tore apart the fuel pump and it appears to work fine. Manual operation proves to me that I am getting sucking and blowing. Sorry for lack of technical terms. I put it all back together and still nothing. And yes, there is gas in the tank. Any ideas before I go completely insane? Tx, Bill

I know that this issue have been discussed many times before, and I allready did a search through the forum, but I'm not asking about how to get rid of it (since I would like to fore sureLOL ) but my question is, is it normal to have a really strong smell? as much as it hurts the eye! when I smell the exhaust it seems to me that it is running rich, but with high rpm no black smoke comes out BUT if I drive it longer looks like that a rich mixture carbon is contaminated in the echaust line which comes out when I go full throttle at high speed and it is really much then! when I start to drive it is ok, after a 30min the smel gets worse and worse! note: I have a modifi…

I'm looking for suggestions. After my 240 has been driven and is then turned off, I get one loud gunshot out of the exhaust. It runs fine, doesn't seem to have any backpressure. I have recently tuned the car up (plat plugs, wires, points, condenser, rotor, coil, dist cap) and the timing is balls on. It's just annoying and it frightens school children. My car starts uo well, idles between 800-1000 RPM and drives pretty well untill it hits 3000RPM. When i try to accelerate there is a lot of hesitation and it just wont push towards 70MPH in the 3rd or the 4th gear. The wires and rotor etc are fairly new, less than 6 months. Could this be a fuel delivery problem or maybe the carbs need balancing? 1973 240Z

I'm interested in a 240z in Sydney Australia. The car has been sitting for over ten years and will definately need restoring. It has rust in the sill's (not sure on the floors as you couldn't get under it). The interior is intact. would love to know how much it would be worth in Australian dollars?.
