I am restoring my 77z it has been in the shop since I am not mechanically inclined for the last 2 weeks. Spending about a grand so far. It is skipping a little one of the valves the mechanic says isn't measuring any pressure. My question is about a adapter kit to place a cd player in the car any idea whee I can get one. Also if you are in the Atlanta area and can recommend a good place to have it paintd I am open for suggestions.

I have a bonus 5 speed that came in a junker 73 240 I bought years ago. Didn't even know it was a 5 speed at first. Attached photos of the tail. Can any one tell me if it is a ZX or a 1977-78 280 model. Any help would be appreciuated! Thanks!

hello, i have a 1972 240 z, my friend and his dad rebuilt the whole car and then i purchased it off them, it has a new 280 engine in it, im not sure of the year, and it has the dual webber carbs on it, lately ive been having some problems with it, when i start it in the mornings or let it sit for more then a couple of hours and try and start it, i have to let it sit for about 5 mins cause it wont hold up and idle well, and it sounds like its flooded or something, till i step on the gas and i have to floor it all the way and it sounds like i blow out whatever is clogging it or is flooded, then it runs smooth as ever, its a pain in the arse to do this every day and i was wo…

Hello all. My 260Z has 143k miles. I live in Houston. Soon to get very hot with summer approaching. I just bought my Z two months ago....looking at getting the oil changed soon. Can you suggest brand and grade of oil to use? Engine is original except for 2 Weber carbs. Thanks for your help.

Ok just picked up a 78-81 distributor off ebay.From this place called PLANET AUTO PARTS. It seems like it was a great deal. It is a remanafactured Diz for $112.00. It appears to be in great shape new bearings,plates and the such. The one thing im curious about is the the module doesnt have any markings on it except "IGN-02" Does anybody have any idea if this a aftermarket module or what???? I dont want to do the upgrade this weekend if it is the wrong module. B.T.W I read over 100 posts on this before i asked. THANKS MIKE

:stupid: I have 76 280z and I think the engine is off a 77. The problem that I am having is that the collant in the radiator looks to greener than the coolant on the over fill tank thats next to the head light on the passenger light. The coolant in the tank looks a little oily but not much but still looks green and its not slimy or brown so I am not sure if there oil is going in to the coolant or not I have cleaned the tank the best I could and it stayd green for a few days but then it got darker. So does any body have this problem let me know thanks. Love this web site its great

Is the fuel filter on an L24 engine supposed to be full when it is running? The reason I ask, mine is not. I'm wondering if I need to replace my fuel pump. Thanks!

Sorry to use the help forum, but I'm trying to get this done tomorrow. Does anyone know the correct diameter for the rubber gas lines on a 1970 240Z. I think it has 5/16th on it now, but it may also have some 3/8ths as well. I've ordered clamps twice and none seem to fit, but for right now I need the right hose diameter. Thanks. Bob

Ok, I would like some opinions on my ignition problem (am 95% sure this is the trouble). I have finally put my car, a 75' 280z, back together after about two months of being apart so that I could paint her and fix all the rust. At the mechanics today (my general mechanic, not a Z one) we finally finished the alternator, header, exhaust and fuel line work and went to crank up the car. It just wouldn't start. The car turns over, but the problem is that it just wasn't going that extra step. The car was running when it was taken apart, but did give me a similar problem the day before I took out the dash (and the ablity to start it with the key) but I didn't think anything of…

Whenever I try to start the car the engine turns over, but doesn't start. Come to find out it's not getting spark. It had been converted to an electronic ignition with a crane cams 700 module. I found another 700 module in a car I had for parts and tried to replace the first one with it. After replacing it, I turn the engine over and over, and I get one spark after I stop turning the key. When I put the old module back in, I don't get any spark at all. A guy that was helping me said he thinks it is still the module. But after seeing the one spark it makes me think that it is something else. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME, IT'S STRESSING ME OUT. haha BTW it's a 1972…

Was wondering if anyone knew for certain, I need a new fuel sender unit, i have tracked down a new 240z fuel sender unit, but i have a Sept 1974 260z 2 seater, as yet i have not managed to find anyone who has a Sept 1974 260z 2 seater fuel sender unit - i might be able to get it from Japan, but thats costly, So, does anyone know for certain whether or not i can use the 240z sender unit in my 260z? i know it will fit, but i want my gauge to work correctly :-), The bloke at Nissan said the part #'s change from Aug 1974 in the 2 Seater Zed's, so he was not certain if they were the same unit,

Hello I am looking for distributor for my 71 Oct built 72 model(240). When I saw my microfiche CD I couldn't see well the parts number. Does anyone know correct parts number. In general 70~72 model use same distributor but I saw deferent parts number. so what is the deference ? Buy the way is it possible to have new one from NISSAN ?
