Hey I got another 77' z not all that long ago that was in non-running condition. They guy I got it from let it rot on his driveway for 3 or so years. The motor had supposedly been "rebuild" or something like that and all that needed to be done was put the motor back together and it "should run". I got the car for 100 bucks so I wasn't complaining... Well, I got the parts i needed...couple nuts and bolts and an old radiator..nothing much really. I just bolted the intake and exhaust manifold back up...made sure everything was connected...changed the oil..new fuel filter...got new plugs...changed out the old gas with new gas.... Anyways...So it's all ready to go and when I …

After reinstalling the wiring harness back into the '72 I found that the headlights are not turning on. All other lights including the front turning/amber colored lights are working. Besides the possible short is there any other possible fix that might be the problem. Are there any relays?

General question, does any one know about the Honda heater/AC blower motor upgrade for a 73 240Z? If so is it worth doing, (going to be a daily driver in Maryland when finished with A/C) and does it put our more air? If it does work which Honda and year is the best blower motor? Thanks in advance Mike

Does anyone know what the biggest wheel and tires will fit on an early 260z without making it look like crap. I wanted to put wider tires on the back. Thanks Mars23z

Any advise would be appreciated. I've just joined your forum and I've done some searching in the archives, but have to say I couldn't find anything that specifically addressed my situation. Below I've provided a description of my problem and would very much appreciate any guidance you may be able to provide. My 78 Datsun 280Z seems to have a bit of a problem in handling its fuel. I have checked the fuel pump pressure which meets spec and I've ran fuel injector cleaner through it a number of times with little to no results. I've also changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel regulator and clean the fuel tank. Here's what it's doing.... When preparing to start the car I no…

I lost one of the nuts that hold the wiper blade to the spindle and had no luck combing the local salvage yards. Does anyone know of a source for this elusive little piece of metal?

For some time now, I have had a dim driver side headlight on my 83 280ZX non turbo coupe. Checked fuses, contacts at the headlight, replaced headlight, checked all the other spots in the harness I could find for a bad ground. Switched headlight relays around (which fixed my "no high beams problem") Looks like I need to replace my water pump, so when I pull the rad will be able to get at a final bit of harness that runs under the rad (I think). If I still can't track it down, thinking of going to these Euro Crystal Clear headlights Victoria British sells and add their heavy duty headlight harness that draws power directly from the battery as opposed to going through the li…

Last summer started getting vibration in the rear end of my 83 280ZX non turbo coupe when car under load. Local Nissan dealer replaced one u joint and it helped quite a bit, but not completely. (Didn't help my wallet by the time I paid labor plus diagnostic time). So, am going to put in four fresh ones. Any tips on best way to do this, for instance, when I put the car up on frame jacks do I need to support the rear wheels, etc? Mark

Was wondering if anyone can clarify something for me, If i have a 260z (2 seater) with an l26 and 3spd auto and i got my hands on an l24e with a 4spd auto from an R30 skyline, would this new driveline bolt straight into my zed? I know the engine is not going to be a drama as it's more or less the same engine, but im more concerned about the gearbox, Does the gearbox crossmember line up correctly with the gearbox mount position? Any help would be great,

I have a problem, I get 12.5 mpg. What is wrong? The car runs fine. If it isn't warmed up I have to rev it out to get going without it backfiring. That tells me that car is running lean. I also have an air/fuel ration gauge that tells me the engine is running lean. The spark plugs also tell me that the engine is running lean, they are all white on the tips. So...how am i getting 12.5 mpg when my Z is running lean. Setup: 1973 240z w/L28, round top SU carbs, header, 4 speed All miles were city and I even drove the car easy the whole time. My only guess: The manual says the white tips on the sparkplugs are a sign of the car running lean or the sparkplugs not s…
