Well I have an idea I want to run past you guys. I have searched the archives and have read that one or two people have done this idea, but no one seems to have documented it to well. I just bought a universal tow bar (http://www.uneedtools.com/adjustable-tow-bar-p-919.html) was around 70 bucks after shipping. I just helped tow my brothers jeep back from Colorado and thought why not my Z when I am taking it to the painters or the mechanics (I am having the engine taken out for painting). Those several tips would run me 50 bucks a pop at least for a tower and 25 each for local U-haul service. I will also be moving and have my Z in tow and that is 125 for the tow dolly o…

I did a search for ignition switch and half a million things came up and many had nothing to do with my problem, I am lazy and hopefully you can make my life easier. My ignition switch is doing some werid stuff and I need to replace it. Can i buy just the switch componant of it without needing to have a "new" switch rekeyed to my current keys? If you are curious this is what's happening. The accessories randomly work or don't work. For instance, my windshield wipers might be working then they will stop, i can turn the key a tad to the start position and they will work for a little while then stop agian. All of the accessory problems respond to me turning the ignit…

This is probably an easy one. I am trying to remove my Amp/fuel guage. The temp. guage came out easy. All I had to do was un-plug the pigtail and light wire and it was off. The fuel guage seems to have two additional leads connected to it. They are comming from a wire harness under the dash. Both have a right angle rubber nipple over them. How do I get these off? If I pry the rubber nipple back, I can see little brass nuts. Do I indo the nuts, or do these plugs simply pull off like the light does? Thanks, Mark

Ok, I'm still working on my high idle when downshifting, (RPMs shoot up to 2,000 to 2,200 when downshifting), I've got an Auxiliary Air Regulator ordered but still not sure that will solve my problem. If it comes down to it where can I get a new BCDD from?

greetings to all, straight to the point:tapemouth I have been watching my 1977 280Z from the back and I always felt the i had a tilted right wheel, but i just discovered that i had an inclined back of my car from the right down by measuring the clearance between the car's body and the top of rear wheels.. I jacked my car (from both sides at the back on stands) i was shocked when I saw the right wheel hanging higher that the left one!?:surprised does it mean that the right shock is different from the left one? since I noticed that I have a different brake drum on the right than the one on left (original with fins) or the sway bar could cause such a thing?? in case of sho…

Here is the deal. I have a whining in my car, it sounds like strait-cut gears. The engine and tranny are pretty tired so the tranny might be the problem. Other guess is the rear differential, or wheel bearings. The whining is only present when there is stress on the drive train. If i am accelerating, or tranny braking the whine is there, if i am cruising/decelerating slowly there is no whine. I don't suspect the wheel bearings because it isn't always noisy. So it is diff or tranny, right? What do you think?

Hello everyone, I have a couple of different questions all relating for the same subject. This past weekend i picked up an complete drivetrain that I won off of Ebay for a 75' 280z (the same year as the one I have). I got a whole lot of stuff with it for a good price of 255 bucks  There are a couple parts that I can't tell what type they are and if they are any better than the ones I already have on my 280z. First off is the header. One reason I bought this was for the muffler (which I had to replace). The new one looks to come with a 6-2-1 (I think) which is made to go with the muffler and exaust. How much better is this one than my other one on my car. (refe…
