I Just bought a 74 260z with 24,925 miles on the car for $1,000.00 (included is a 71 240z in the price.) The car has been sitting for about 11yrs. The car turns over and acts like it want's to start but won't start. What could the problem be. I think the carbs are gunked up. If they are how do I fix the problem? DeeDee

Hi. I am installing a new brake master cylinder on my 72 240. Is there anyway to bleed it prior to installation so that I don't have to re bleed the entire system? Thanks. Bill.

Hello My name Marvis, I need some advice on a problem I have. About a year ago I went out and bought a 240z 71. I thought I was getting a pretty go deal:rambo: . I paid $700.00 for the car $300.00 for shipping. I knew there would be that needed to be done, but I didn't think it would be this much:sleepy: . My biggest concern is all the rust. There is not alot of rust on the body. Most of the rust is on the bottom of the car. You can the ground in alot of spots. When I first got it the car, a few friend and I tryed to get the car running. Ok, this is slightly off topic, but still has a Z angle and twist to it ... On Wednesday I am going to be driving 1,600 miles to bring my 96' Nissan Sentra to where my fiancee lives. The car has been on regular oil for a while now 135,000 miles (85% highway) but I would like to switch over to synthetic. I was looking at Mobil 10w-40 high mileage blend. Is this a good idea, or should I stick with my old oil because switching over could lead to leaks? Now for the Z angle ... my 75' 280z. I want to run synthetic on it when it's all put back together. The engine was rebuilt only one year before it was parked and was only driven to school or work by the PO. Which oil route wou…

Hi guys, I have always had this problem to an extent, but it got alot worse today. First off my car is a 75 280Z, Usually when I start my car and the engine is already warm it tends to idle rough kind of like it is choking on fuel a bit, but then after you drive it for about 20 seconds it is fine, but today it got alot worse where it took me up to five times to get it started, it sounded like it was gunna start right up but as soon as i let go of the key it died, finally I was able to hold it at about 3000 rpm for about 30 seconds and i slowly let off the gas and the engne stayed running. This only happens when the engine is warm. Im not sure what is causing this, b…

I have a stock 1975 280Z with an automatic transmission. My car seems to have had this same problem for about 6 years now and I do not know what there is left to do to fix it. Sometimes when you turn the key the engine does not turn over at all then you turn it again and the engine will start right up. There have been times where I have had to turn the key 7 times to get the engine to crank. I have tried 3 different starters, so I know it is not that, also, a new battery, new alternator, and new voltage regulator, so it's not anything to do with the charging system, and my mechanic has also bypassed the neutral safety switch. I don't know what else to do. …

I was driving to school today and saw a red 240Z for sale on a parcel off to the side of the road. Once I got out of class I went back and took a closer look. The body is in quite good condition, the paint is not of the hightest quality, but the exterior is otherwise in good condition for its age. Phoned the guy who was selling it, and got a good deal of information from him about the car. -1973 -"Superficial" rust, needs some work, but has not rusted through the floorpans etc. -No engine or transmission -Springs taken out, in the back of the car. Original springs, so even if they were installed I would be getting new ones. -Original rims in the back, but with some attrac…

Just found big leaks in my heater core, want to get a new one ASAP. I wanted to know what years had the same design heater core as a 1976 model (can be removed through the side of the heater block). Sometimes shops list a core for one year, but it will work on several, please, the shops close at 9pm!
