Hi all, Hopefully you all can help me with these couple of questions. I just got my 240z running and able to drive around the block. I just put in a 81, 280zx motor and 5 sp tranny. 1. Is it normal for the tranny in first or second to make a whining noise in first and 2nd gears? It sounds like driving a Older Corvette, that's all I can give you as an example. I have never driven this car before. So I an not sure what to expect on noises. 2. I also put in the 3 into 2 headers and the turbo exhaust system. Does anyone have that exhaust system in ther rigs? I get a lot of loud crackels on excellerating and decellerating. It's sound like a rice burner in a way. I read…

Hello ya all, long time. I have a question about fuel pressure. When the car is idle it has 40 psi, is it suppose to sustain this level when the car is off or is it suppose to go back down to 0 psi. Thanks

I read in an article that Datsun-Nissan has a repair kit for broken defrost wires on the rear hatch. I can't seem to find it now. Is there a way to fix the defrost wires? Thanks. Bill.

Hi people! Am not much on here but when i do it’s because I have a problem.... I have a 76 280Z and just finished changing the thermostat (after drilling out the housing because a bolt broke in the housing but that’s a problem I solved but here's one I can’t figure out. After washing the motor and engine bay it started up fine and drove around the block to make sure the Thermostat housing didn’t leak then I parked it for one week and know I go to start the motor and starts fine but seems like its getting to much fuel and blows black smoke out and hesitates....If it wasn’t fuel inj. This is my first oil change since getting the car (took it to a Z Shop for the first one) and my Haynes manual is still on order.. and it's been a long time since I changed the oil on my '78 back in High School... I'm heading to the store on the way home from work and, ummm... (sigh) How much oil? 6 quarts?

Can anyone help me tell if either my car is a 240Z or a 280Z, it is a pretty odd car, inside has the dash of a 280Z, the engine and tranny looks like the 240Z. The gas tank was a 240Z. also i found an ecu on the car. By know the car is half & half, jajaja.:stupid:

I'm looking into buying a Z that i found very cheap ($600). The car is in Houston, TX and i live in Austin. I'm new to Z's, but i've been following them around and I completely love them. I've been looking for a good cheap one and this may be it, but i need your expertise because i have none. Hey Guys, I know this aint about a Z, but I still need your help on it. At least its still a nissan! My daily driver 1995 hardbody 4x4, 4cyl, 5 speed has the following issue: since yesterday, when I stop at a redlight, my truck dies. Not just cuts off, but drops revs and feels like it does when you accidentally leave it in gear without mashing on the clutch. But not every time. Also, it runs perfectly, going down the road. NO skips, sputters, or the like, its still strong (relatively...it is a KA after all ). If it doesn't die at the redlight, you can watch the tach, and the revs will drop from about 1k (normal idle) to around 750-800, and the truck feels like i…

I have a 70z i built 2 years ago not 1 problem i couldnt pin point & fix . Until now. when driving this clicking noise is coming from rear of my z. now this clicking goes in sync the faster i go fast clicking slowing down slow down clicking until i stop at a red light.take off and away we go again with that fricking clicking its driving me crazy . Does anybody have any idea how, where ,who, can i get the little spring that holds the small hasp in place.The one that allows you to unlock /lock the door.
