Hello I picked up a 9/70 Z and the previous owner said he put the battery terminals on wrong and fried something? The starter works and that fusible link is fine, I have lights gauges etc. but no spark. It has a magnetic pick up dist. with the numbers D6F4-03 7303 22100 N4301 marked on the side. It has vacuum advance and the wrong timing plate/base? The spark box is mounted on the firewall with HITACHI E12-12A marked on it. It has an 8140 Accel 12v Super stock coil. The previous owner said his brother put it on so I assume it's installed wrong or don’t work? Here are some pic's of them maybe someone can identify them and suggest the correct installation or some t…

I picked up an '83 280ZX non turbo for my nephew. Is the injector wiring color code the same as on an '82? Also, are the turbo injectors the ones with the little nipple on the end of the injector? I'm trying to find out if these injectors are from a turbo or non turbo. Thanks for any info you can give me...

im having troubles keeping charge to my 280. i had the battery and alternator checked. the starter also. whats happening is i have to jump the car. once its started and im just sitting there idleing its fine, but once i drive for a while my battery starts to die as if the alternator isnt helping it. i checked one of the fusible links and it was dry rotted so im guessing the others are too and they all need to be replaced. would that make sence for whats going on? if im right... where can i get the links. or is there a amp fuse i can use and just get rid of the wires? my e-mail is tim_7_2000@yahoo.com any and all info is helpful! thanks

Thoughts....? I recently examined and drove a 78 280z. The body looks nearly perfect - no rust. Seriously - no rust. Not in the fenders, not in the rocker panels, not in the rear deck, not in the frame rails. I noticed slight ripples in each of the doors along the outer most curvature of the door - maybe dings not quite smoothed out before a paint job? Car was repainted about 10 yrs ago. Interior was imaculate except for the obligatory crack in the dash. Everything works! Manual steering, brakes, and auto trans. Engine sounds great and trans operated and felt fine. I noticed that there was not a lot of power on acceleration. A mechanic told me that the auto tr…

I have developed a fuel leak at the union fitting on the float bowl after checking the filter in there. I have torn it down a second time to see if I could clean the mating surfaces and make it work, but it didn't. The surfaces looked OK but it still leaks after re-assembly. I am afrait to tighten it any more for fear of breaking the float bowl cover fitting. I guess I need new aluminum washers. Are they fairly standard or am I going to have a hard time finding them?

Greetings, I was in the process of replacing the water pump and snapped off the bottom of the two large bolts, one of the ones that goes through the timing cover into the block. So now, unless someone has a magic through the timing cover bolt extraction technique, it looks like I am going to have to pull the cover. I have a factory manual, but it is not much use for this proceedure. Can the cover be pulled without pulling the head and oil pan? If it can, what are the chances of getting it back on without it leaking. Are there any breakables to consider between pulling the bolts from the oil pan and front cover and applying the rubber mallet? Is there a better technique t…
