I no longer have the time to play with cars. so i regret to say i need to sell my Z's , for tuition. i have a 1971 240z its bright red, has the factory L24/E88 head , 6-2-1 header, and weber dual downdraft carbs, plus a 5spd. tranny. the paint is new, but its been done by a begginer. it also has a vented MSA front fascia. the other Z is a 1974 260Z with a VERY built L28 stroker/N42 head and flat top pistons. the head has been ported and polished and fitted with brass.the compression ratio is like 11:1. all work was done by the veteran Z builder "PHRED" on this website. the L28 also has a 6-2-1 header, mallory dual point distributor(i have a brand new ZX distributor too) …

Hey guys, i just got this 280z a few weeks ago, and it was not running....i will be getting a Haynes manual tomorrow, but i figured i would ask the gurus first...however i have some pics...with some ?'s.....ok. #1 I found this little Ignition wire had broken off from corrosion etc. the car will not crank if it is unhooked, so i take it that needs to be hooked up #2 Ok, this hose (looks like a vacuum hose maybe?) was unhooked from that T-Joint.....will this cause the car not to start, if so, where does it hook up?

Could anybody please help? Did this BW T5 Gearbox come out in any other Zed car than the 280ZX Turbo? Cheers, Dennis in Oz.

Hi everybody, I'm brand new here and I probably have a question that hasn't come up before. I'm 6'6" 260lbs and I don't know if I'll fit, does anybody have any info, or are similar in size to myself and fit? (can't find any interior dimensions on the internet for a 1st Gen. Z) I'm seriously looking into buying a 1st Gen. Z, I'm not worried about the condition as the car will be completely gone through and rebuilt/modified (if anyone has a cheap, running, project car, feel free to drop me some info), I'm in So. Cal. and have no prob driving some miles to buy a running 1st Gen. Thanks.

I own a early 74 260 .Im in the final stages of a almost complete restoration not quite frame up but close.I want to keep the car as stock as possible "done good so far".But now im down to the bumpers ,emblems and such. The problem is the finding the rubber packing that goes between the bumpers and the body I need the front and back left and right ,centers good .I have looked the usual sources msa ,vb, zedd, ebay no luck.Im thinking that these are hard to find with the short production of the early bumpers with the dampers.Does anybody have any good ideas on how to deal with this problem i know somebody out there has run into this before.Im open to any ideas thinking of tr…

Hey guys, I have a 75 280z that I am restoring. I know the car is a manual because of the clutch, but I do not know if it is a 4 or 5 speed. The previous owner drained all fluids and such before I bought it, so I can't just shift through all of the gears to find out, plus there is no shift knob. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey. I just bought an intake/exhaust gasket, but it doesn't seem right. I have an N42 head, square exhaust ports, but the gasket has funny shapes for the exhaust ports. They aren't round, they're more hexagonal. Shouldn't they be square? The box even says it's for my year Z, but the ports aren't square. What's going on? Can I still use it? It's a Fel-Pro gasket, and I wondering if it's possible if they tried to incorporate a couple port shapes into a single gasket.

I need to identify the type of adjustable struts I have on my 240 I recently purchased and how to adjust them. I see that I simply use a small screw driver, but how many clicks up or down does what? Is their an adjustment I can make to return them to full soft or full firm and then work from that point. I posted a couple of picks to help in the ID. Thanks Steve 71 240Z

Driving home this morning I noticed my 5-speed tranny getting harder to shift into gear. I like to engine brake (down shift to slow down) and when I would go from 3rd to 2nd it took me 4 times to get it into gear. I then slowed the car in neutral. On top of that, when I wanted to go I could not get it into 1st right away like I always could. This is the first time I have had any trouble with the transmission.
