2 questions on my '73 240 w/72 SU's, Pertronix Ignitor and MSA header: 1) re: valve adjustment - I am unable to get cam lobe #1 to point *exactly straight up* by kicking the ignition bit by bit. Is *close* good enough to check/adjust the clearance? If not, I need to turn the crank manually but I can't see how I can do so easily without potentially damaging the water pump by hitting the fan with a ratchet handle over and over... 2) while getting my Z running again after painting it, I removed the mechanical fuel pump to check its suction by manually actuating its lever. Its real hard to find someone who knows these cars!! I just bought a 76 280Z and there is something missing behind the front bezel that holds it on.....can anyone help me find out what i need to hold this bezel in place and where I can find one? Hi guys, i just purchased a 76 280z, however it wont start.......when i put in the key and turn, it turns over, and sounds like its close to starting..but wont start......I just replaced the plugs........still not starting, what should i try next, starter?! Any help is appreciated, thanks!

In two months and 60 or so miles my compression in all cylinders has dropped drastically<sp?>. From 170-160 across all cylinders it's become 140 to 150. <whimper>. My driving isn't that insane. I've made a mistake somewhere along the way.... THIS IS MY BIGGEST WORRY Will my engine be junk in another 60 miles? Help? Please? Vacuum is still super low (it was when the compression was high, as well). It was at 14 steady when I bought it, now it's a twitchy 10. Hopefully the new intake gasket will fix that. Hi guys, I have an original steering wheel from my 1970 (the one with the holes not punched out) and want to restore the wheel. The only problem with it is that is really dirty on the "wood" rim. Does anyone know of a good way to clean it or what to use to bring it to "new" condition. Thanks Mark

Ok, when I bought my car there had been a rat living in it, the rat chewed on a number of things. The one thing I need help on is replacing the butterfly clips! So I bought a set of them of ebay when they got to my house my brother and I went down to my car. Then my brother cut the old one's off and now I don't know which clip goes where! Is there anybody that can help me please?

Ok where do I begin I bought my car and one of things I need to do is cut out the floorboard because there is a rust hole as big as a baseball. So when I get my grinder do cut around the framerail or right through it? Because the part of the the rail where the rust hole is barely hanging on there. Please help me!

Well i bought my z (1982 280zx turbo) a week ago monday. I know its not quite a classic but i plan on owning it till it is. However i still have questions that i hope can be answered. Now, This is my problem. I bought the car from a friend of mine who changed the starter and the coil but he put parts from his old z non-turbo in it. When i got it the car ran but the catalytic converter was really clogged so it was acting as a governor and not letting me use this car to its potential.
