Hi all; 1)Are there 1 or 2 springs on the advance weights on the dizzy off a '75 260z? Mine only has one. 2)I recently broke my drivers door handle :stupid: I have been told that they could be the same as a Datsun 120Ys( http://www.tidalportal.com/SEADAT/images/usergallery/125.jpg for the americans, because i think you have a diff name for it). Are they? Or does anybody in AUS want to donate one :nervous: Also does anybody have a pic/description on how to remove one form the inside on a 2+2? Thanks in advance!!!

I recently purchased a 1971 z, totally original, and am having some very minor paint work completed (the dime-sized rust spots behind each front wheel in teh fender were the only bad areas! - trying to keep original paint on rest of car, as it is almost 100%). Remainder of paint, under spare tire, floors, etc are all mint. Anyway, the car has the original am radio w/power antenna (and working clock, w/o cracks in dash!), but the original owner put an fm converter behind the pass seat in '72. I am removing this, and making sure the orignal radio works...how many speakers were in an original z, and where were they located? There are two speakers in the rear panels above…

I am interested in building a motor for a 240Z. I have an opportunity at a LD28 crank, but not sure if that is the right way to go. I am just looking for a hot street car that I can hill climb or AutoX on the occasional Z event. Do you think a stoker motor is the way to go? I'd like a motor with a lower power band, say 3000-6000 RPM powerband and good pull in that range. Not wanting to spend $5k on building the motor. Any comments?

guys, im in the middle of a small rebuild...(installing some new toys) and ive got a new clutch..so i took the old one off and found this: it is the larger of the two clutches....im just concerned about the two "rings" and that dark spot... the flywheel looks a little rough too...thats surface rust, but yet again, the "ring" see what im talking about? normal clutch wear after hard driving of 7k miles? i noticed when the car was full up of stuff the clutch would slip a little when i push her to the limit..thats why im gettin the certerforce 2...

Oops :stupid: I was under my car in the weekend, tightening nuts & bolts (a favourite pass-time). I found a single nut on the rear suspension (one on the lefthand transverse link, one on the righthand transverse link) which looked really loose. Just a small nut (12mm?). One of them tightened successfully. The other sheered the bolt off!! WHAT WAS THAT BOLT? It is described in my Haines manual (in figure 11.34 on page 180 - the section titled "rear suspension strut and springs removal and installation") as a "TRANSVERSE LINK INNER BOLT". Can someone please tell me what the TRANSVERSE LINK INNER BOLT does? ???

I went to pick and pull today to add to my collection of tranny swap parts and I tried to get the flywheel and the clutch pedal arm and springs. I could not figure out how to get the pedal arm off, I just need the arm and whatever else is hooked to it like the neutral safety switch and what nots. If anyone can give me some advice on how to get it out or if they have an extra arm with no rust and take paypal please let me know. Also I got a 5 speed tranny from a 1979 280zx and it has back seats does this mean it is a 2+2 and if I buy a clutch kit do I have to buy one for a 2+2 or do I just buy the 1978 clutch kit. Thanks
