Hey everyone. I got the MSA replacement driveshaft about 2 years ago or so, and since then, I also had the tranny get new seals and bearings. The problem is, the tailshaft leaks where it meets up with the driveshaft and basically creates a circular ring of greasy gook buildup on the inside of the transmisson tunnel and running down the inside of the exhaust shield.. Also, I recently had to have a new clutch put in because of tranny fluid contamination, and thankfully the clutch shop put in a new rear main seal to help keep that from happening again. Yet they ALSO put in a new tailshaft seal, but it still seems to be leaking. I have a feeling it's one of two things. Either…

Howdy guys. Its been a while since I've gotten onto this site and I'm sure nobody remembers who I am (if they ever knew). But anyways, I have a small problem with my 74 260, the reverse is out. I've been perfectly fine with pushing it out of certian parking spots but now that school is coming back in it is just way too hectic in the parking lot to do such a thing. I'm figuring that the transmission fluid must be very dirty, therefore, it will not go in reverse. What I am asking is how would I get about draining the transmission fluid to refill it. I have fairly good mechanical prowess so I doubt that anything wouldn't be that hard of a task for me. Thanks

So I just took my Z for a quick jaunt in the rain, and was surprised to discover that, for some reason, the vents on top of the dash that one would normally use to defog their windows... don't do anything! I flipped the switch on the console to "Def" and flipped the temperature switch to "Hot" and the fan to "4" ... and there was absolutely nothing coming out of the top of the dash. There was lots of air coming out of the vents facing me, but nothing from on top... I was lucky I was only a few blocks from home, otherwise there would've been a serious disaster on my hands. Help me!

Im replacing the exhaust mandifold on my 240z, I removed all of the bolts, nuts and now I need to remove the studs. I did a search on this but all I got was horror stories of studs snaping off and 4 hours of drilling them out. So I'm here once again, asking for advice form you guys about removing the studs. P.S. I cant do the torch trick or welding trick to remove them, dont have the equipment to do that. Thanks

Dave at Arizona Z Car has said that he intends to offer a custom, billet, cnc machined, aluminum brace that would allow z owners to use the finned, LSD differential cover with larger oil capacity. I have communicated with several members here in the past that have expressed an interest in this brace. Perhaps Dave would be more inclined to start production on this piece if he had some idea of our interest in buying it. If you are interested in having one, please respond to this post and email Dave. His address is dave@arizonazcar.com

I recently did a full brake job on my 76 280Z and also put on those braided stainless steel brake lines from MSA. The brakes seem to work just fine but when the car is on an incline the brake light comes on and remains on for 5 or 10 miles then goes off. I've definately ruled out the switch on the emergency brake handle as being the cause. No leaks and the fluid in the reservoir is topped off. I see there is a brake light warning light switch with 4 brake lines running from it under the hood but Nissan doesn't carry them any longer. Is that switch interchangable with other year Z's.Any ideas on how to tell if that switch has gone bad and how to check a used switch I may h…

I purchased a new firewall throttle lever grommet and it is too big for my '71 240Z. (Hole in firewall is too small for the grommet) Do they make a smaller grommet? I guess I can pull it thru the firewall and cut it off. But, it will not seal as well as one that fits! What do you do here? :disappoin
