my water temp guage hasn't worked since i got my zed last month.(72) the other day my neighbor pulled the wire from the sensor to inspect it and it looked clean. next day i noticed the guage reading about 1/4, then just a suddenly it quit workin.the p o said he never had a problem with it.now it's intermitently workin and not workin.any suggestions, thankyou very much in advance.p.s. when i had the safety inspection done i tld the mechanic to check the guage. he said he had it workin for a while and that all my guages were a lttle screwy.

When you have a non-turbo car and you swap it to a turbo car. do you have to swap the differential too. I put the turbo motor in , the turbo tranny, the drive shaft and I see that the driveshaft (turbo) bolts don't line up with the holes for the differential. Does that mean that I have to swap the whole thing or just the part that you bolt to the driveshaft??????? Please help!!!!! DeeDee

I was rear-ended, and their insurance is wanting to total my baby. I have had three estimates to fix, and they are all running around $3,000. She is in fair-good condition, having many parts I have not put on/installed due to weather. I am just needing some advice on how to proceed with the insurance company. Ok.... I drove my 1977 280 2+2 for two weeks and then i park it in my drive way. the next morning i go to start it and it start right up then dies.... It does not want to run now.... the only way it will run is if i keep the gas peddle to the floor even then it does not pass 3K RPM and black smoke comes out of the tail pipe. I know it has something to do with the fuel and more around the O2 mixture, so i have been messing around with the AFM and it seems to do different things sometimes it works a little better sometime it does not work at all. Let me preface this by saying I have searched the forums a bit and have consulted my Clymer and Haynes manuals. I'm sure this has been discussed here at one point but I can't find anything that matches my situation. I just need a little help getting pointed in the right direction. =( i broke the bleed screw on the right rear drum brake. I bled the rest of the system and im still getting decent brakeing, but what do i do now? another problem is my 72 datsun has spot from 2000-4000 rpms where it runs terrible. before i started changing stuff around on the carb i figured i would ask people here and also to say my muffler is gone and could possibly be a factor. hello, i posted before about a problem with my 1972 datsun 240z and so far it has not been solved. The car ran a year ago however she doesnt run now. It recieves plenty of fuel and what seems to be good spark. The engine will crank and then backfire unbelievably loud. I have replaced the distributor cap, rotar, plugs, and wires. I thought maybe the distributor rotar was 180* off but i couldnt get it to go on the other way leading me to believe thats not the problem. I regapped the points and rechecked the firing order and everything seems correct.. someone plz help me! =)

Hello, im having a serious problem trying to get my 1972 datsun 240z started. All the plugs are recieving a spark and fuel is reaching the carbs without any problem. The engine will just turn over until it lets out a massive backfire in which it actually blew my muffler in two, however, it only does this occasionally. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

Just purchased a Nissan Oil Filter from courtesy Nissan. I have a 1977 280Z and the one they sent me was part # 15208-W1106 Sound right??? Just need to know as quick as I can incase I need to return it. As of right now I got my Z parked at my storage garage so I can't just go out and double check it unfortuneately. Hey guys.. I am doing my turbo swap next week.. with my Z31 turbo.. and I will be using the Z31 downpipe.. and I just bought a 3" downpipe, and there is one minor problem... the Z31 turbo has the following : Turbo charger Downpipe, O2 elbow and wastegate housing attached as one the 280ZX turbo has the following : Turbo charger Wastegate housing bolted onto the turbo Then the downpipe and O2 elbow and this is the downpipe courtesy to Jared Now I know I should post this in the classifieds.. i've been here for 2 years posting literally every day.. but I need HELP bad from you guys!!
