Hey guys. I have dealt with this since i finished the car, but i think its time i fix it. That little blue indicator light stays on no matter how many times i click the hi beams. Also i noticed that the only light that seems to switch is the drivers side one. The passenger light just stays in low beam. Also when both lights are in low beam the right one is a little brighter. All your ideas are welcome! thanks guys

ok first about the year i looked up the numbers hls30-32347 and from what i found i believe its a 71 but im still not sure.. second i know the frame is sound the floors need replaced they are really rusted.. about the 4spd-5spd will i need a new bell housing; will the 5spd clutch fit ? the reason it was in a junkyard is the previous owner passed and his brother the owner of the yard put it up for sale (he had never heard of a datsun ha ) and as to the 280z turbo swap i have everything with the engine but there is one prob the E.C.U. and ive heard they are prone to be faulty currently im working on removing the body then i wanna drop the engine any tips? advice? im loca…

Hey guys its been awhile since i have posted on here so here is a little update. The motor that took me so long to rebuild is finally done. Acctually, i have almost 2,000 miles on it! So anyways. It seems to idle pretty high (950ish) and when i blip the throttle in neutral it just dies when it goes to settle back to idle. It sputters then just dies. What in the world could be causing this? Sometimes instead of dieing the idle goes reallllly low then it takes a second for the motor to catch back up. Its very odd. thanks in advance guys

I bought this engine on eBay a few months ago. It was pulled from a wrecked 280z in 1980 before the first oil change and never used again. The guy that sold it to me said that it was out of a 1979 but now I'm not sure. The engine has the BCDD on the bottom of the intake and not on the throttle body. I looked on Carfiche.com it doesn't show the BCDD on the intake until 1980? I really don't care what year it is I just want to buy a service manual and I'm not sure what year I need. I'm in the middle of changeing a clutch, and I'm replaceing my pilot bushing. Do I need to put locktite or anything on the bushing, or is it supposed to be free moveing in the crank? Thanks

Hi Guys, bit of a problem with my carbies , both have been professionally rebuilt, the front is fine, the rear developes a leak after about 60 seconds at idle??. No leak at startup (cranking) its just as you think everything is ok.....petrol starts coming out of the balance / equalizer port on the rear carby? Maybe (cars been off the road for 4 years) the needle is being blocked (stuck open) by sediment / crap? Have tried clearing the needle , worked fine for about 40-60 secs and then the leak reappeared! Any ideas?? Cheers

Just bought a 1981 Turbo 280Z. It was running but missing. Now we are not getting any spark at all. Tried a good coil with no success. We were told by a mechanic that it could be the pick up coil, which we can't find, or possible the crank angle sensor. Any sugggestions would be appreciated.

hey was washign ymengine compartment today and got the distibuter cap wet.. i dryed it off, i hope and the car started normally, however it will not rev up past 26oo rpm. if im in nuetral and step on the gass it kinda boggs out around this limit....whast the deal? or do i have a vacuum leak

I tried jumping the power window motor with a fused wire from the battery to both up/down wires going to it but no go. It's just 2 wires so should I ground one and put hot to the other? I have power going in/out of the switch so I'm stuck here. It's for a Z32 I just bought to drive while I do more work on the 1977. Thanks

A few months ago I purchased a 1975 280Z. I'm planning on pulling the engine in a few weeks and I have noticed the standard hoisting brackets are not mounted to the engine. Are there any alternative aftermarted brackets that would work well? Is there another way to support the engine when hoisting? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
