I'm not worried about it i have all the tools to tap them out, just wanted to know if there is somthing i should be doing to prevent this. I am using penetrating oil and leting soak for hours if not days and spraying it several times. Any ideas or just keep twisting away??

this is tougher than a Rubik's cube! So I got a new mirror, and I went to install it, but the installation screws are covered by the mount itself. So I can't figure out how to screw the mirror in without some kind of magic tool that can install it right through the piece of solid metal! Any help out there? I can't figure this out. Erik

I recently was in stop and go traffic and I noticed that as I was coming to a stop, that all to uneasy feeling that the Z was about to die came on. It was running hot that day and the temps had been in the 80's for the first time this year. Sure enough after a couple more stops I had to get off the hwy and let her rest for about 30 min. I was able to drive home after with no heat issues???? The car is a '73 240 with an after market A/C unit which includes the A/C radiator (which sets in front of the car's radiator). I have the original round tops and intake with Summer/Winter on it (set to Summer). Does this sound familiar? Can it be corrected? This is my daily …

Dim lights 1 2

Just noticed this last night. I think that my alternator is going out, but I'm not sure. My lights are very dim, both the headlights and the instruments. The wipers almost don't move at all. The ammeter is reading a negative charge with the engine running. Anything other than a bad alternator that could be the cause? I'll probably buy a new alternator tomorrow, but I want to be sure I'm fixing the right problem before spending a load of dough.

I have a '75 280Z. I will be pulling the engine soon and I am wondering what are the best hoisting points to use to support the engine? Are there any special brackets or supports out there for this engine? What's the best way to do this? I have a 2-ton ram hoist with a load leveler. Thanks in advance.

I was given a 1979 ZX that is not running.. I tested the fuel pump and it was shorted out. I got another one, replaced the old one and now I have no voltage to the fuel pump. The fusible link was blown, so I replaced it. But still I have no voltage to the pump. I haver tried to trace the lines to it but can not see where the break is or the problem with it. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.. I am stumped and am not sure where to go next. Thanks

Hi, I need help w/my 76 280z It's been running rough when cold; have to give it more gas when cold to keep it running & it's a rough idle. It runs fine warm so I know I'm hunting down the right area, but am stumped as what to do next. Last night I cleaned all the connections at the Thermostat housing including the Thermotime Switch, Water Temp Sensor & switch, and all bullet connections. I used electronic contact cleaner on every connection, and sanded all the bullet connectors & pins (best as possiable). I understood that was the first thing to do, but I've done that & it is still running rough. I've read the maual & the efi bible. I know it could be …

Hey folks, Had a 'pucker moment' last night when the wipers on my '74 260 decided to stop working in a heavy rain. Yanked off the cowl cover today and found that the arm had fallen off of the motor pivot. Seems Nissan over-engineered this piece, there are a number of washers, a spring, a couple of keyed bushings and other miscellaneous pieces. I need a diagram of some sort so I can figure out what broke, or how to get it all back together. Anyone have the coresponding page out of the manual? I have a Chilton manual, but it doesn't show much other than the basic workings of the linkage.

Hey guy's, I can't believe this but a simple rubber grommet is holding up my restoration. I did have a few sources but they have all fallen through. I need the rubber firewall grommet that goes around the engine bay wireing harness. It goes in the firewall and has a boot on the engine bay side. I posted in the classifieds a picture of what I need. Can anyone help? It is for a 73 which is larger than the earlier models. Thanks.
