I have a '75 280Z. I will be pulling the engine soon and I am wondering what are the best hoisting points to use to support the engine? Are there any special brackets or supports out there for this engine? What's the best way to do this? I have a 2-ton ram hoist with a load leveler. Thanks in advance.

I was given a 1979 ZX that is not running.. I tested the fuel pump and it was shorted out. I got another one, replaced the old one and now I have no voltage to the fuel pump. The fusible link was blown, so I replaced it. But still I have no voltage to the pump. I haver tried to trace the lines to it but can not see where the break is or the problem with it. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.. I am stumped and am not sure where to go next. Thanks

Hi, I need help w/my 76 280z It's been running rough when cold; have to give it more gas when cold to keep it running & it's a rough idle. It runs fine warm so I know I'm hunting down the right area, but am stumped as what to do next. Last night I cleaned all the connections at the Thermostat housing including the Thermotime Switch, Water Temp Sensor & switch, and all bullet connections. I used electronic contact cleaner on every connection, and sanded all the bullet connectors & pins (best as possiable). I understood that was the first thing to do, but I've done that & it is still running rough. I've read the maual & the efi bible. I know it could be …

Hey folks, Had a 'pucker moment' last night when the wipers on my '74 260 decided to stop working in a heavy rain. Yanked off the cowl cover today and found that the arm had fallen off of the motor pivot. Seems Nissan over-engineered this piece, there are a number of washers, a spring, a couple of keyed bushings and other miscellaneous pieces. I need a diagram of some sort so I can figure out what broke, or how to get it all back together. Anyone have the coresponding page out of the manual? I have a Chilton manual, but it doesn't show much other than the basic workings of the linkage.

Hey guy's, I can't believe this but a simple rubber grommet is holding up my restoration. I did have a few sources but they have all fallen through. I need the rubber firewall grommet that goes around the engine bay wireing harness. It goes in the firewall and has a boot on the engine bay side. I posted in the classifieds a picture of what I need. Can anyone help? It is for a 73 which is larger than the earlier models. Thanks.

I have an 83ZX that went from having to turn the ignition key a couple of times to get it to start to plain won't start. The Battery and Starter are both good and have been bench load tested. I have 12V from the battery to the larger starter terminal, and no voltage to the starter in the "start" position of the ignition switch. I have 12V from the ignition to the distributor in the on position. I have checked the "brown" fuseable link on the passenger fenderwell and it is O.K. HEP Hep!!!!!!

Hello everbody, Does anybody have any ideas to improve the starting of the 240z. It's very cold in New York and even though the car starts it takes about two or three trys and thats with a complete major tune up with new plugs, points, rotor, fuel filter, coil, distributor cap.Carbs are adjusted. I know these cars were always alittle difficult. The battery is new and the starter and alternator are fine. Would an electronic ignition help. The car is garaged but even in the garage unless I put the heater on it can be a pain in the neck. Let me know if you have had the same problem and if there is a fix. Thanks Burt Cardogman1 71 240z

Hello this is Stacey. Almost 3 months ago we replaced the engine in my 280 and the car ran great. Recently the car has been running rough. The compression check ran a little over 160 in all cylinders and the plugs appear to be burning about the same. Now the compression is 120 in No. 1 cylinder and I need to find out why. Any advise would help. Thanks, Stacey Stacey Pike El Cajon, CA. '74 260 Z Coupe- 280 Block, 260 Heads, 240 Dual SU Carbs '75 280 Z Coupe- L28 Engine Drive Fast- Take Chances!

I own a 1972 240Z, and the speedometer did not work when I first bought it. I ordered a new pinion gear because the nylon cog was worn out on the first one. Well, after only about 350 miles, this one is worn out too and my speedometer does not work. It just abruptly stopped working one morning. Does anyone know what could be causing it to wear out the cogs so fast, and where to buy one? The one I ordered was from Courtesy Nissan, and it took about 2 months to get it, and was pretty expensive to only work for a few hundred miles. Any help is appreciated.
