Hi. My name is Stacey. I have 4 Z cars at this moment. My '75 280 has a problem & I can't figure out what the problem is. Can you? #1- A "popping" sound" like a compression sound" in the #4 cylinder when the plugs are removed and #2- A "knock" also out of the #4 cylinder that corresponds with the intake valve cam load after it closes. The compression is equal to the other valves-160. And last but not least how do I look for damage in the spring rocker arm & pivot? If anyone could help me. Contact me ASAP.

alright i ordered a stage 3 cam and wanted to put it in so im wondering do i need to take the whole engine out to swap cams? Also, ive gotten alot of it apart on the head but i cannot get the cam out of the head... the sprocket bolt will not loosen and every book ive looked at doesnt say or show a good way to loosen this bolt. they all just say loosen the sprocket bolt and remove the sprocket to remvoe the cam... but how do i remove the sprocket bolt????? anyone a pro at this and have a foolproof way of doing it? please help me ~Jerrod

Is there something that would cause one or more fuel injectors to be open all the time. Took out all the spark plugs and they are black and soaked with gas. Car runs very rich. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

1980 280ZX was running fine until it seems like it is getting too much or not enough gas. It's hard to keep running and only goes about 30mph with very stinky exhaust. We decided to clean the fuel injectors with a pressurized can of Echilin from Napa so we unplugged the fuel pump, pinched off the fuel return line and ran it on the can of injector cleaner. Funny thing was that it seemed to run better on the injector cleaner than on gas, but only ran for a few minutes on the can of injector cleaner and it was gone and an unusual amount of white smoke was coming out of the exhaust. When I had used this kind of pressurized cleaner in the past the cars ran for 10-15 minute…

, well i finaly got the z running good... :stupid: or so i thought so i decided that i should take her with me to nebrascia... i was going to visit the gf and spend the weekend @ her parents. anyways.. it made the whole trip there and about 1/2 of the way back ok ~ 7 hours there and about 3 hours back ok but then it just died. i was driving @ about 85mph and it just died... i realy didnt notice at first so i tried shifting down once and compression starting it.. it worked so i headed to the next exit and checked around in the engine compartment a little but i couldn't see anything overtly wrong... so i get going again and go for about an hour w. no problems before it h…

Hey guys, I could use some help here. Yesterday when I got in to start the car after work it seemed like the clutch pedal was catching lower than usual. I cranked the engine and started home figuring that it was just my imagination. A mile into the drive I knew I had a problem. The clutch was now catching even lower. Going over an overpass in backed up traffic I could barely get it in gear. At that point I had about two inches left in the pedal. I made it to the interstate and all was good until I went down my exit. I'm having a real hard time asking MSA to provide me with a quote and shipping estimate. I have emailed them over the past 2 weeks but now I get nothing at all. :surprised The order is in the region of 2k to them, so I wonder why they are not so responsive. Anyone had similar problems? Has anyone got a email address of the sales team of boss I could have? The exchange rate is very favourable and I want to get this resto moving. Or should I just go to VB and be done with it????
