:disappoin If it's not one thing, it's another... My Z has had a vibration coming from the rear for a while. I recently jacked up the left rear, wiggled the wheel to see if it was a bad bearing, and spun the wheel to see if there was anything visible. There was nothing "visibly" wrong, but instead something was "audibly" wrong - The wheel would spin freely for half a revolution, but then kind of "rub" for the second half of the revolution? You know, like there was friction preventing it from spinning freely? :disappoin Any ideas what it could be? Would it be explained by a bad wheel bearing, or something more dramatic?

Hello all, I need two inner tie rod ends (the ones that go inside the steering rack) for a 75 260Z. Nissan don't list them any more, neither does my regular parts shop. Does anybody know where I can get these? Preferably in Australia, but will order from US if I have to. Thanks

Hi All, I thought I didn't have an electrical fuel pump because I couldn't hear it. Well, I did have one, but it turns out it was crippled. It was pumping so badly that it was actually impeding the flow of fuel. I replaced it with a universal in-line electrical fuel pump and now the car has good power at all RPM ranges even after driving for a while. By the way, the coolant to the carbs was blocked already, so I knew my problem had to be something else. Now, I've got another problem I'd like to run by you all. When I'm crusing at 3000 RPM and I just put the car into neutral, the RPM will hold at about 2800 RPM and stay there even though my foot is off the gas pedal. If I …

Well, it's not quite an emergency, but I could use some advice. About four months ago, I was pulling out of a parking garage & smelled smoke. I got the fire out, drove it home & was so disgusted I parked the Z for 4 months while I worked on other projects. Today I finally crawled under the dash & found what happened. I think the heater switch failed & started a fire. I'm not sure why, but a couple of suspicions: > could have just been 25 yrs of crud & dirt > I've been running over-voltage because I haven't been able to track down why the voltage-regulator can't maintain voltage. Hello everyone, I'm looking for some advice to solve my problem. I was having leaks when gas was pumped... it was the plastic filler tube (the one on my avatar). So when I pulled off it the flexible part came out in pieces When searching for the new replacement part, I find it for 100+shipping . Too expensive for me, call me what you want, but I will prefer a cheaper doit yourself solution to tackle this problem. the rigid plastic piece seems o.k. the lower flexible plastic piece it's all rotted Do anyone out there had the same problem? Hi Guys, I am new to this forum and my name is Tom Whitfield. My dad and I have recently just purchased a highly modified competition spec English Datsun 260z, and we are having some troubles with it. When the engine reaches about 4000 RPM a vibration is experienced from the engine. The engine is an L28 and has racing cams, triple Weber carburettors, high spark (???) spark plugs, has been recently bored, polished and blueprinted and has flat top pistons and an L26 head. The previous owner has told us that he had had a lot of trouble with the harmonic balancer but since buying a solid gold BMW harmonic balancer the problem seemed to be fixed. Hey Z people, Does anyone know the proper torque for the front wheel hub bolt? Its the bolt that holds the roter and hub on and keeps the bearings in place. Or do you just turn it till its tight? :stupid: Matt-

So I need to jack my Z up, but there's a little problem. I have a nice hole in my floorboard (passenger) and the rail has collapsed with it. The rail by my T/C box appears to be in okay shape, but I can't see through rubber undercoating. I want to get under the car with my heat gun to see what is REALLY there (hoping for no rust on the actual frame rail, just the floor supports), but I'm mortified that it will collapse onto me. The question I pose is, "What viable options do I have for suspending the car stably with a sketchy frame rail?" (78 280z) Hey guys. I have a bit of a problem. I hooked up my battery to test it, and make sure it still has juice in it, and to make sure all of my lights are working good. I have nothing but the block, and the crank in the car. all of the stuff is out because im rebuilding it, and inspecting the internals. So i plugged in the battery, and checked to see that the lights worked ok. I turned on the headlights, and the passenger light is very dim. When i switch it to brights it goes out completely, but the drivers light goes bright. I though it was just a worn bulb or something. But then i turned the key to the "ON" position.
