I just finished putting in a new stock radiator in my '77 280z. However, when I started it up to get the coolant running, it seemed as though the gas was not being regulated correctly - heavy smoke and a real stink comin out the back. My other thought is that it may also have to do with the intake, which sounded like it was sucking away harder than usual. Funny thing is, the radiator and coolant system seems to work just fine. Any help or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have 75 Z FI. I runs very good when it's cold but the engine stalls and hard to restart when hot. I know that its running rich because I blow black clouds when I dig my spurs into it, but the more I lean out the AFM the hotter the engine runs and thus the worse the problem becomes aftr warm up. I have a new distributor, wires, cap, rotor, intake/exhst manifold gasket, no appearent vacume leaks, new PVC, PVC hose good. Runs great but the time I get work (14 Miles) I'm fighting to keep it running and heaven forbid it cuts off, because it will be hard to restart. I have to disconnect all of the injector terminals, run out the excess gas and then I can usually get it r…

At $6.84 per pair they better do something really good!!! Hey did i tell you about the guy at the auto shop i go to, he is Chinese and he complimented me on my car. Even gave me these two really kool chinese word stickers. Said they mean "Speed Attitude" Think i'll find an appropriate place to put them on my Z and take a pic and post it. Oh one last think, anyone ever use Lucas Oil Stabilizer in there manual tranny? I just dumped a 32 oz bottle in there with 32 oz of Slick 50 80-90wt gear oil. I think i slight…

I finally got all the pieces for my new exhaust and assembled it all but can't get it to start. What I've done: - Removed my tired L24 and replaced it with an L28 block bought on ebay with my existing E31 head on it. - Installed a new MSA 6:1 header and 2 1/2" exhaust - I did not remove the oil pump so I figured I could just put my old dizzy w/Pertronix back as it had been on the old motor. - I didn't change any settings on my carbs as they ran pretty well before. What happens is that during cranking now and then a puff of gas comes out of the carbs. I also hear something from the exhaust, like a muffled backfire? The engine never sounds like it's about to start. I'v…

I know this is a long shot, but does any one know of a series 1 shell about to be scrapped anywhere? I would like to cut a section out from the rear deck (pretty much the section you see in the attached picture courtesy of Kats), to replace the area on mine where a previous owner has cut speaker holes. Many thanks for any assistance Andrew

Ok, this has happened b4. I drove home. park the car and then it jus doesnt start up when i go out to start it. there fuel and it cranks, but no spark. Last time this happened. i didnt fix it. i was jus tryin to test connections and see if i was getter power to things. then i found water in my fuseble links. I dried it up and replaced one of the wires. then tested again and it had power to the coil. then i started it and it started up. so its happening again. the fuseble link is dry. wires are good. but i dont have power to the coil. wat could it be?
