Hi everyone, been scratching my head over this one. I recently rebuilt my engine (+ all new seals), and while I was at it I went ahead and replaced my pilot bushing, throwout bearing, clutch, etc. and everything ran fine for several weeks. Suddenly, now the clutch squeaks any time I press it in when the engine running, but not when the engine is off. I've read online this sound is common with a bad pilot bushing, but this one is brand new? Video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/r7FSh6LizfamRN5D9 74 260z with L28 + Round Tops and 4 speed tranny. Thanks!

I have a blown rear Tokico shock in my Ground Control sectioned coilovers. Problem is, Tokico shocks are no longer offered. I ordered a pair of Koni yellows for 240Z front ( front shocks are used in the rear of sectioned GC 240Z coilovers). The Konis are about 3/8 inches too tall and the gland nut won’t engage the threads in the top of the strut tube. If anyone has a Tokico strut laying around, or knows where I could find one, I would love to buy it. I can get by with one, but would like to replace both rears. Thanks Guy

After quite a bit of time has passed. I have managed to replace the ignition control module that I previously posted with an lx-512 module and it seemed to be an oem out of box module.myfather installed it for me in Idaho, so you know the car had been sitting for almost a year. My father tried to drive on it but the car would die after he would let off the gas. Car idles great. He towed it to me in texas where I dropped the tank. The fuel still had rust particles floating so I sent the tank and got it re-nu‘d (cleaned and sealed). I installed the renud tank and I got a replacement fuel pump and fuel filter. I fired up the car and she idled great but if you rev the e…

I noticed that my 77 Z is idling a bit rough. It used to idle at around 1100rpm but usually floats around 900rpm. The air come from the exhaust isn’t steady when idling. It feels as if air is coming through and pauses every second or so. i have uploaded a video to try to document my issue. 19058449-ED28-4FE2-8D00-807C5F322FA5.MOV

I parked my z for about a month after rebuilding the engine and driving it to school for about two months. I daily a different car to go to work to save on gas, and when I went to start my car it was dead because I left the radar on. I jump started my car with the daily driven car. But as it charged up enough to start and run, I let it sit for about 15 min. I started to drive it and when the rpms were up and I would let off the gas, the car turns off. I don’t know what the problem would be. (Pictures of rebuild)

This afternoon I was trying to drive my car to get alignment, I know so many things to do, and when shifting from reverse to first my car stalled and would not fire up after. I started testing things and found that I have no power to my fuel pump. It definitely works still since it ran when I shorted it on a battery, and I have ground to its plug. The problem is the positive terminal has no voltage. I then tested all the fuel pump relays according to the FSM and all pass along with continuity from the positive terminal at the pump to the fuel pump relay. Also, I have reseated my oil pump plug and Have tested for voltage when the ignition is in "Start" and not just "On". S…

Hi everyone, I did a coolant flush a few weeks back. I noticed that the coolant temperature gauge fluctuates between in the middle to slightly pass it. I checked underneath the car and no leaks. Fan clutch has no issues either. The Z doesn’t seem to be running badly. i was wondering if i didn’t burp all the air out. It seem to sit right in the middle before I did the coolant flush. I relaxed the coolant with predilluted Peak coolant. What could be wrong?

Is there anyone local to NYC that knows how to tune these or knows of a shop that can tune these type of carbs. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Please dont tell me to ditch them and get the old round top carbs. I have no intent of buying any old carbs since ill be looking to rb swap later on in the future. Thank you

Good day to everyone! Could someone tell me what the two engine dampers do, ie...their function and I checked the oil in there and it is low. What weight oil, 10W-20, would be the best? Also, would you add while the engine is on? Do not want to over fill and they are a little “funky”! Thanks, Tom

Hi! So ive been having an issue getting my 1977 280z to start. I have spark, compression, and have been running fuel manually with an extra battery and test leads on the fuel pump. I think it sounds like the engines firing, but it just doesnt wanna turn over. Any suggestions?

I just bought this new pump and got it installed in my 1977 280z, but nothing seems to be happening. I don’t even hear it priming. Any suggestions? I even used the multimeter to make sure I was getting power, and I was I indeed. I don’t recall how much power I was getting, but it wasn’t a full 12v. Would that be an issue?
