Well here is the deal. I was removing the carbs with my father. I was labeling the hoses as I took them off A B C D etc. Well I went into the house to take care of some things and came out to find out that he removed the rest of the hoses without me. But he didn't label anything, just removed them. Thanks Dad. The issues I have now are two things. 1. Does any of the 260Z owners with the stock carbs have pictures of how the lines run for me? Any pictures that have some decent detail to let me know where everything heads would be so great at this point just to help me track them down a bit. 2. I am noticing that as I am looking at the carbs that some places like the ports …

I have a '73 240Z with a retrofitted (if that even qualifies as the 240s didn't come with A/C anyway) A/C system. I need to know how much of a R134a charge it will need. I'm working on my system at school in automotive A/C class, but I've yet to find any hard facts on how much charge it takes. The most I know about it right now is that it has a massive York Compressor. Unfortunately the compressor's clutch is constantly engaged when I turn the A/C on which will be another problem I have to address. Any help on how much charge I put in the system will be great. Thanks! The Doctor

It never ends... Today I decided to check the ignition timing and points on my 260Z. The point looked reasonable, but the gap was somewhat tight, so I set it to 0.45mm as the manual says. Ignition timing was a little more advanced than the factory spec 10deg, so I corrected that. Took it for a drive and it felt fine lower down, but was missing up in the revs. Took it home, rechecked the points gap and put the ign timing where it was. Wouldn't start. Checked everything a million times...wouldn't start. Later had a play again, then it did start. Still missing up in the revs. So went and bought myself -Bosch GT40R -New points -New dizzy cap (the posts in the old o…

I have heard that there are two different ignition locks for the 240Z, one for the series 1 and another for '71-'73. Can anyone confirm or deny this and if this is true can someone explain the difference?

I was looking at this last night and realized that I may have to remove the hatch from the hinges to get it installed properly. Is this correct!? I'd rather not have to unless it is necessary to do the job right. Has anyone done this without removing the hatch? If so do you have any tips/tricks to getting the seal behind the hinge and seated properly? As a side note question, am I correct in assuming that I must install the seal using that tube of sealant/adhesive that came with my rubber seal kit?

Guys I have a 1970 240 that has recently undergone a restoration job, one of the last things to do is fix the speedo, a nice easy job or so I thought. Here is the problem, I have an original gearbox, I know this because when I asked Nissan for the front and rear oil seals prior to re fitting the g/box they gave me the wrong ones and they did'nt fit, I took them back and he confirmed that they were not for a 1970 box, he ordered the correct ones and they were fitted without a problem. I then got the same guy to order the speedo drive gear and housing which had to come from Japan, once they arrived I took the car to a mechanic friend of mine who rang me within half an hour …

I have a 1981 2+2 manual 280z, whose starter I wrecked directly to hell.. Chewed up the gear real good. I'm having the worst time replacing it. I've bought two now from people that swore it would fit my car but niether works (one from a '75 280z and one from an '82 turbo automatic)... Does anyone know how I can find the correct part number or what model years will fit my car? And does anyone need two starter motors... Thanks!

I just bought a 75 280z. I have been doing alot of major rust repair for a 4-5 weeks so I'm just geting around to trying to make this thing run. I thought that I had it almost there untill today I took it out for a very short spin. When I accellerate slowly it seems to run pretty smooth but if I push the peddal too hard it starts to buck and misfire. I had a car comming right at me so I guess I dug my spurs in a little too hard beacuse I blew seam right out my muffler. I've been trying to get the engine running right for a few weeks and have had problems running really rich and really rough. I changed the plug wires, cleaned the injectors, put in a new PVC, fuel fil…
