Can anyone tell me what the torque foot llbs is on the single flange bolt on each side of an R180 diff. The manual says 40footllbs (5.5kgm) but I have just stripped one of the bolts and the other one whilst torqued to 40llbs did not feel right. I have read on the site that it is only 18llbs which may sound and feel right. (2manyZ's - you may have answered this for me but the reply dissapeared off the sitre before i could read it) Thanks biker

I did the following and it is now running. 1.Remove and replace all fuel 2.New fuel filter 3. Remove all injectors and clean, all squirt well 4. New battery 5. new thermostat..... while replacing stripped housing, replaced thermostat housing. new one is different My original one (1976) has three "probes" that enter into the side of the housing, the new one has only two. The two that are currently connected connect with the standard nissan 2prong boot just like the fuel injectors, the third has…

Due to a vicious accident I had to put my 240z motor/tranny into a 260z to revive it. As you can imagine this created a whole new world of electric problems. I would like to switch to the single wire GM alternator conversion. Have any of you done this or know how and could give instructions?

I am debating on whether or not to leave the anti-backfire valve on the manifold of my 260Z. The throttle linkage has accomodation for the valve. What do I do with this part of the linkage if I decide to remove the valve? Also, does this valve really do what it is supposed to do? I am stripping off all the smog stuff, but if this valve actually reduces or eliminates backfire on decelleration, I don't mind keeping it. Thanks in advance

Has anyone here ever installed the Turbo exhaust sys. from MSA? Was it difficult to do it yourself? Did you need any other parts that wasn't mentioned in the desription in MSA's catalog?

I am having a heck of a time trying to get my 260z started. It came from down South so the cold totally killed the battery that was in it. I got a brand new battery and it started up with little problem, I let it run the idle smoothed out, everything was cool so I turned it off. I tried starting it up again shortly after and it fired right to life. The next day it was increasingly difficult to start, the engine just cranks, but wont turn over. After about 10-15 minutes trying to start it with and without the jump assist from my battery charger I got frustrated and gave up. Stubornly I went back out to the garage about an hour later and it started the on the second try. Y…

From inside the car..there is a wire on the left side top of the engine that goes from near one of the injectors to the left side of the engine compartment...this is on the opposite side of the car from the battery...the wire appears to be flat looks kinda like a snake skin..this wire is severly damaged due to what looks like either fire or it just shorted out....does anyone know what the wire might be...or what its for...the car is running fine with the exception of being just a little rough in 4th gear...starts ok and every thing else...but something is wrong with the wire.. Thanks Mike...77 Z Columbia SC

Ok here is what happened. Everyday about 5-10 minutes before I leave work I go out and start my car so it will be warmed up enough to pull out into traffic. Last night it got down to 26 degrees here and today was really cold, so I decided to go out 15 minutes early. I cranked it, put the club on, locked it and went back inside to finish work. When I came out 15 minutes later there was steam pouring from underneath the front of the car. I hopped in and saw that the thermostat was pegged over to the right. I turned it off. It smelled pretty bad. I popped the hood and found that the fan had somehow wedged itself against the bottom of the top lip of the radiator. It had sat …
