Ok, so I installed new clutch master and slave cylinders today. Was very happy that I could get both locally on a weekend. However, when the master came in today, the pushrod was almost an inch shorter than the one on the car. Even after adjusting the fork out all the way on the pushrod, it was about 1/4" shorter than the original. Other than that, it looked identical to the stock part. To make a long story short, after installing and bleeding the system, the slave pushrod pushes out, but I guess not enough, since I still can't put the car in gear. Would 1/4" on the master cylinder pushrod cause this kind of problem, or is it more likely that I don't have the syste…

Finally got her going....Ended up being a major vacuum leak under the Arizona intake.......................It was torked to hell....The only way to stop it was use some gasket sealer....I dont like using that stuff on an intake but it did the trick. It does not have the power that it should...but it does run very smooth.......from here on out it is the easy stuff..............hot valve adjustment.....fine tune the timing and carb. I am going to have to pulle the timing cover one more time ( I hope not the head) From the timing cover being taken on and off so many times, I have a small oil leak at the top of the timing cover)......I hope a little gasket maker will do th…

Help! My car has developed a vibration at about 45+mph. I notice it more when I accelerate, but I guess even when I take my foot off the gass it's still there a bit. Opinions so far include the drive shaft being out of balance, or the diff and gearbox not lining up true. I dunno!? I've heard horror stories of Z suspension or drive shafts collapsing at speed because people ignore these problems. I don't want that to happen! I also get a metalic "click"/"clunk" changing into 3rd, 4th or 5th gear (but not 2nd). So, I wonder whether the spline between drive shaft and diff is worn out? Any advice re: drive shafts/vibrations/diffs??? P.S: the vibration is NOT from wheel balanc…

I'm trying to find some Konig Monsoon/ALT 180 wheels for my Z and these look like what I'm searching for. However the guy says 2 wheels have a little camber to them, but I'm not sure what this means in respect to wheels. Can anyone explain this to me before the auction ends? I'd really appreciate it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2443032289&category=38662

Currently trying to remove the lock mechanism from my drivers door. My shop manual says I need to remove the remote control rod from the main locking mechanism. However there is this little plastic clip/retainer thing that fits over the end of the rod and inside the "tab" of the locking mechanism. How do you take the rod out? I've tried squeezing this thing, I've tried just using force and it wont come out! Any ideas? Btw....I really don't want to break it.

I am grasping for straws here. Just a reminder: 78 280Z removed the stock head, fuel injection, cpu, and wiring harness Mounted an E88 head Arizona intake Holley 390 For the 4th time......I pulled the the timing cover and chain off ( even bought a new timing set) Crank and cam are set on the money Dizzy is on the money firing order is on the money. I can get the car running but you have to pump the gas and keep the rpms high.........keeps kicking gas back thru the carb. All point to the timing being off.....BUT it is not! Here is my only thought.................. When I removed the wiring harness did I remove something to the ignition module? Does this car have an ignitio…
