Just picked this car up from some moron in southern BC. Can you guys help me figure out what these lines are, and what I can just shave off? It's such a mess. My 260Z Gallery with Labelled Pictures I found this engine which belows to a member on this site. I labelled some hoses... The setup looks simplistic and functional.... Can you help answer my questions? Thanks so much. I really want to get this running so I can start the bodywork and interior restoration.

Hi guys and girls, The car: 1974 Early 260Z Coupe The problems: 1) There is alot of steering play before it 'bites' - I can move the wheel a good 10+ degrees in each direction before the steering actually catches. 2) The overall feel of the car is something similar to that of a Lincoln Town car - very 'floaty' and rocks from back to forth upon hard braking and acceleration. 3) Alot of vibration in the front of the car starting at 60mph and becoming undriveable by 80mph. I was pretty confident the steering play was due to the previous completely worn stock rack and pinion bushings, so replaced them today with Urethane bushings - this helped, but there is still alot o…

Well I took the plugs out, cleaned them, put them back in. I drove about 100 miles, then checked the plugs again. I only noticed a small amount of oil ( very small ) on the threads. I'm wondering if, when I adjusted my valves, some oil dripped down to the plugs ( I also gapped my plugs on that day ) and worked its way down the threads. My reason for thinking this is that there was oil on every plug, but there was only oil on the threads. There is no evidence of oil on the tip of the plug. any cause for worry??? would a compression check tell me anything??

I'm in the process (spending lots of money) of restoring a 72 240, and I need some advice on reparing the inner fender below the battery tray. Can I purchase a new inner fender? If so where? Do I need to try and find a doner car to get one. It sounds like it is a common problem, so I'm not sure if a donor car would be very easy to find. I guess the last option is to fabricate my own patch panels. I've already purchased new rails, battery tray, and I plan on replacing the floor pans.

I have a 280ZX 5 speed in my 72 240Z... recentley I have been having trouble getting the tranny to stay in reverse, I would have to hold it in, but now I have to hold it as hard as I can, and it still barely will stay in without clicking and popping in and out, What will be the exact cause within the transmission itself? I ruled out the differential being the problem, as the car rolls freely when in neutral backwards... any suggestion?? thanks. dave.
