How's it going everybody. I have been trying to get a part for my thermostat housing and no one has it. I tried Msa, victoria, and the nissan dealer, no luck. What I am looking for is part of the thermostat housing. It is a hose connector to the thermostat housing. It is off a 72 240z. The housing directs water in two routes from the housing. One is directly into the engine where it is bolted on at and the other is through a hose that goes into the intake manifold. There is a connector that screws into the housing that the hose going to the intake manifold attaches to. This connector is what I am looking for. I can't believe something this simple is keeping my c…

Ok, this noise started last weekend in my 1978 280z. I think I went too fast over a speed bump at work and now i have a "clunk" noise when i go over bumps. right now it only does it when i go over any kind of bump, i got under the car today because I thought a nut came loose on my diffy, or mustache bar, everything looks OK and tight. I just got new KYB struts so i dont think that's it. I thought maybe it's a bushing that went bad, maybe in the mustache bar or front diff. i visually inspected those areas too and it looks ok, this noise is only on the passenger side, in the rear. can any one know what elsei i can check and have this problem before? thanks Nick

I still don't have instruments lights! in my '71 Z. The dome light, the glovebox light and map light all work, everything works except for the instrument and auto. trans. selector lights. What am I missing? this happened after I installed a Hitachi AM/FM radio and burned out the instr./dome light fuse, I'm pretty sure its because I hadn't grounded out the unit to metal/frame. I've checked all the fuses and some of the instruments bulbs, they are all good, what could be wrong? I also have made sure the blue lead to the radio lighting lead is not shorted out against metal. I think maybe I burned a lead to the instruments but I wouldn't which wire it might be, but thats w…

Got a guy at work with his 77 FI (looks fairly stock) overheating.... It's hitting the 250 mark in about 5-8 minutes (it's in the 90's today). Replaced the cap, put in some stop leak and still no better. What do yo guys think? It is holding pressure (I bumped the over flow bottle and the cap flew off. The water wasn't super hot, I was able to hold my hand in the water as it shot out. Could it be a stuck thermostat? A little water was forcing itself out through the neck of the new cap. Hoping to get this solved ASAP.

I just completed installing a Hitachi AM/FM radio in place of the AM Hitachi in my 71 Z when suddenly as I was adjusting the fit of the unit the radio and dash lights all went out. I shorted something out, I guess the unit wasn't grounded properly, so I replaced the burned out 20 amp fuse. Now I don't have any dash lights, but everything else works, the radio, dome light, glovebox light, map light, fan switch, all the exterior lamps but no dash instruments lights. What could be the problem, my guess is I may have burned a wire that feeds all the instrument lights???? Thanks for any help or ideas you guys can give me.

Hello, I just bought the 280Z, I have not got the car yet, it is coming this week hopefully. Anyway, someone broke into the car through the passenger side quater window. They didn't break the glass, they just damaged the seal. How can I fix that? Do I need to buy the glass and the seal? or the seal should work? What other stuff do I need to buy? Thank you, appreciated Viz

My '78 280z 2+2 would not start yesterday even with a jump. Not a noise from the starter or the open door buzzer or anything. Dead! A week ago this happened and it started with a jump then worked as if nothing happened. I immediately turned off the car an it restarted again and again. But yesterday it didn't respond to a jump. I took off the leads to the battery, which is new from last summer, and cleaned them then tried to start it again but no luck. I tried hitting the solenoid with no success. I did notice that the amp meter did slightly move negatively as I turned on the key but that stopped after trying to jump the car. Any help would be greatly appredciate…

About 3 weeks ago I backed out of my driveway and my "72 died and wouldn't start. I got her back into my garage and started trouble shooting. It will crank over really good but won't start. I read the other posts on this subject. I replaced the condenser and then the coil, also checked all the connections, still the same problem. I'd really appreciate if someone could give me some advice on what to look for. I'm going to keep trying this coming weekend. If I can't get her running I'm thinking of upgrading the ignition system. What is best, the Crane 700 or 3000. or the petronix upgrade? So come monday if I don't have a car running I plan on ordering one of them.

I can not open either door from the outside and climbing through the hatch is just not acceptable! On the pass door the rod that is connected to the outside door handle is missing the nylon nut thingy that connects it to the latch. On the driver's side the outside door handle is broken and needs replaced as well as the nylon nut thingy on the rod that is connected to the outside door handle and the to the latch is is shattered. MSA's catalog shows that they sell the outside door handle but it does not say if the rod I also need comes with it or not and it does not show it to be available seperately. There is a line pointing to it but no description, name, or part numb…

Well I have found a few trinkets on Japanese Ebay that I would like to have, however I can't bid, nor will the guy ship internationally (from what I can gather from his add when chucked through a translator) So I need to find a middle man who buys stuff, ships to his adress, then either ships to me, or just chucks in an outgoing container on its way to melbourne or adelaide? Does anyone have any ideas or recomendations?
