recently i was driving my car, i had no problems getting to where i was going, but on the way home the engine felt like it was going to die. the idle dropped and then went back to normal about 3 times, i just thought it was a fluke and i proceeded to get on the freeway. then as i was just getting on, i had barely any power and i was pretty scared it was going to die. so i took the first exit, i was waiting at a red light to pull into a parking lot and take a look under the hood and it died at the red light. i had to push the car into the nearest parking lot, i tried starting it about 15 times and it would just crank but no go. i gave it gas and everything and i could …

Hello Z freaks the name is cardogman and I have yet another problem. I need a diagnosis. Here goes. Last week I had Tokicos installed . I don't know whether this sound was occuring before or after the installation. This what I here inside the vehicle and if I role down the window I seem to here it outside the vehicle sort of near the front drivers side wheel. Tick Tick Ticking. It speeds up when I go faster and it slows down when I go slower. I think I know what it is but I am not sure and it's driving me crazy. It's not very loud. What is the problem? I am cardogman Burt thanks :stupid:

Rear Bushes

Ok guys After getting bugged by the creaks coming from the rear end of late (just the car), I decided to have a good look on the weekend only to find that the LH inner transverse bolt can move side to side by about an inch. Maybe this relates to people following me around a track saying the car looks tailee. The RH bolt can move around a quarter of an inch but I suppose it must have some movement as it is known as a flexible bushing. I intend to replace all the bushings I can at the back. I have read some horror stories about replacing these bushes and people destroying bolts, inner casings etc, and generally having a lousy time getting them out and back in again. The…

well, i have been trying to get the '77 280Z to work for a while now in my free time (which isnt much because of finals lately, but i digress). current problem: besides an electrical snafu, i have been having problems with the clutch. i originally thought it was just that we had plenty of air in the clutch lines, so after bleeding them (and being able to observe that the slave cylinder is moving nicely after the bleed)... went to fire it up tonight and move it out of the garage (because my dad wants to park in there again). so i turn on the engine, depress the clutch, and attempt to move the shifter into reverse... griiiiiiiiiind of synchros (which are already bad enough …

25 is too small, 32 is too big, and of course as of right now I don't have anything in between. So tell me what size I should get from Sears when I go there in a little bit. Thanks, -e

I was removing the studs from my head. After letting them soak in WD-40 I go to remove them. They all came out except for one. It broke. So I said to my self "here I go again" as I was having flashbacks. So I drilled out the center and proceeded to use the easy out. That broke too. I took out the dremmel tool and cut a slot on the tip of the bolt for the impact screw driver. I ended up breaking the tip off the bit. This bolt does not want to come out. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do next. I tried drilling it out again but a piece of the easy out is stuck in the center (hardened steel) of the broken stud.

I need some help with my 72 240. It has a Pertronix ignitor new NGK plugs, new fuel filter, cap and rotor. The car idles fine pulls hard through all gears but once I reach cursing speed it acts like it is missing. This all started this weekend after I filled up with gas. Could it be a bad tank of gas or what. Thanks Greg

Well my drivers side window broke out today, must have gotten wedged sideways or something, either way I dont car why it broke right now, but I need to know what I can do. Me and my dad were looking at it and it looks like it a fairly straight peice of glass, so I figure we could make a replica out of clear fiberglass or lexan or something. Would this work? Is the original 72 240z window a staraight peice of glass? If not, is there any way to make a cheap fix for it? The car is a peice of crap so I dont care what it looks like, as long as it will keep people out of the car just as well as glass will (aka no scran wrap ) So what should I do? I am in a hugh hurry because t…

I bought a nice 260 off ebay and was originally going to use it as a parts vehicle, but some one said they only made 800 of these cars and body wise it is sweet. Is this correct? This is an early 260 with the thin bumpers and it has the original pan from the radiator strut to the cross member. I have it stripped naked all the way to the unibody and before I do any surgery I'm just curious. I don't care for an automatic, my other is a 4 speed so enlighten me. Thanx
