I need some suggestions. I'm replacing my Radiator on my 78 280Z cause it's leaking bad. I was doing well in the process of removing my radiator out so I decided that I may as well replace my water pump while I'm at it. As I was removing the bolts that hold the water pump to the engine block, I turned one of two of the bigger size bolts on the bottom of the water pump and it Broke. leaving almost an inch of the end of the bolt inside the block. Any of you guys ever had this happen to them? Please give me some advice. I will attempt to drill it out but scared I might do more damage than repair. Maybe I should just leave it there. What do you guys think.

HELP….. I was over hauling the fuel system of my 73 Z to clean out all the metal lines, replace all the rubber hoses and change all the gas filters. This Z has been sitting in a garage for the 12 years and the tank was dry. . I pulled the electric fuel pump out and changed the filter and I bench tested the unit. The pump seams to be working fine, it pumped a good amount at a good pressure. I re-installed it and was trying to get it to pump enough fuel from the tank to fill the fuel system. I tried this by turning the keys to ACC and even tried to crank the engine but the electric pump would not pump. I traced the power from the ignation to the the inline fuse (black and…

I just finished flushing and changing the engine and tranny oil. I used Slick 50 in the engine and the best synthetic oil i could find(Castrol Syntex) I used gear oil and Lucas oil stabalizer for the transmission. So I'm on the road in town and i find my self first at the traffec light when a guy in a little Honda Prelude pulls up. He is with his girl and is revving his engine(four cylinder with the big fat goofy exhaust tip) So, i figure, ok, GAME ON!!! The light turns gree and i pop the clutch...(slower than i usually do) but we are neck and neck then it happens, i hear a back fire and my car slows down...he pulls ahead and i'm pissed...i notice this happening …

After my beloved '72 finally succumbed to the heartless rust gods (my fault for living in Ottawa, Canada) I went looking for a replacement. Eventually I was able to get my hands on a '77 from So/Cal with a solid body, but not running (warped head/blown head gasket). After doing the rebuild and putting everything back together I'm experiencing a problem with the charging system. There is a little red light in the voltmeter which remains 'on' whether the car is running or not (it even stays on when the key is removed from the ignition). I'm assuming that this is not normal?! When the car is running the voltmeter continually overcharges, in proportion to the engine speed. …

I am very close to completing my restore of my '73 240Z. However when I installed new doors seals, (a complete rubber kit from Z Therapy), I can not get the doors to close. Are the seals bad or am I doing somthing wrong? Thanks in advance, Jeff

Maybe getting the problem narrowed down. Tried to start the car with no success. Gas not getting to the filter. Blew out the fuel line to the tank, it bubbled nicely. Checked for a filter or pump near the tank-none. Put a gas line into a container of gas and the car started right up. Hooked up the lines and tried again-started right up. Any ideas? This could be something that acts intermittantly since in the past the car just acts like it has run out of gas. I am eager to solve this problem, almost ready to change my user name to "12manyz"

Ok it was fine till this morning and here is what happend. I started the car and it idled fine for a few seconds, then died, i recranked it and pulled full choke to warm it up. Initially the engine revved to about 2500 rpms just fine, but then it started sputtering like it was fireing on about one or maybe 2 cylinders for several seconds, so i shut it off. I went to restart it and the rear dome light blew out and the car would not so much as crank over. I charged the battery and replaced both battery cables, but there is nothing i turn the key and no lights no click, no nothing. All fuses are intact as well. My daughter and i pushed the car the 300 feet to the Car Qu…

When i romove the wire from the spark plug, and place a spark plug in the wire, and touch the plug wich is now connected with the wire to the valve cover, there is spark... not a strong spark, from what i have been told a blue spark is strong and a orange-ish colour is weaker. When i go to connect the wire back the the spark pl…
