Help Me !!

This is the emergency HELP ME forum for those of you that are having troubles with your Z-Car and need immediate help.

    After my beloved '72 finally succumbed to the heartless rust gods (my fault for living in Ottawa, Canada) I went looking for a replacement. Eventually I was able to get my hands on a '77 from So/Cal with a solid body, but not running (warped head/blown head gasket). After doing the rebuild and putting everything back together I'm experiencing a problem with the charging system. There is a little red light in the voltmeter which remains 'on' whether the car is running or not (it even stays on when the key is removed from the ignition). I'm assuming that this is not normal?! When the car is running the voltmeter continually overcharges, in proportion to the engine speed. …

    Hello, ok i finnally got emough time off work to check and play around, anyays, there is good spark. and it's now running on 4 cylinders, 1-2-3-4 are running now, 4 just started today got it on teh road legally now, but not dribving it till this is working, anyways coudl it be stuck valves i got some rislone in there today and let it run a bit, now i got one more cylinder working, i was told that runing the engine, while only 4 of the cylinders are running the other two, the oil in them will be washed away by the gas that isn't geting burnt up is htis true, thanks

    I've got two questions. The first is what are my seats made of? Is it velour not leather, and if so, what is velour?!?! Also, I've got two switches (as shown in the pic attached) which dont do anything... My car is a 71 so what should the switches do?

    Maybe getting the problem narrowed down. Tried to start the car with no success. Gas not getting to the filter. Blew out the fuel line to the tank, it bubbled nicely. Checked for a filter or pump near the tank-none. Put a gas line into a container of gas and the car started right up. Hooked up the lines and tried again-started right up. Any ideas? This could be something that acts intermittantly since in the past the car just acts like it has run out of gas. I am eager to solve this problem, almost ready to change my user name to "12manyz"

  7. Ok it was fine till this morning and here is what happend. I started the car and it idled fine for a few seconds, then died, i recranked it and pulled full choke to warm it up. Initially the engine revved to about 2500 rpms just fine, but then it started sputtering like it was fireing on about one or maybe 2 cylinders for several seconds, so i shut it off. I went to restart it and the rear dome light blew out and the car would not so much as crank over. I charged the battery and replaced both battery cables, but there is nothing i turn the key and no lights no click, no nothing. All fuses are intact as well.     :stupid: I have a 82 280zx 5 speed non turbo. every time i open my doors the door lights come on but the dome light doesnt. if i open the hatch the dome light comes on. i checked the two wires going into the courtesy lights under the dash, both wires are hot, no ground. whats up with that? please help!!!! i need my under the dash courtesy lights!!!!!!

  10. Hello, again....Ok i was wondering about rislone and other types of additives... What is the deal on them, and should i add some to the car since it has been sitting for a few years...I have some skynthetic stuff in there that is what was in it when i got it, and it had an oil change. THanks

    Hello, how do i tell if the emision cotrol has been taken off? I hae noticed that there is a braided type hose tht comes off a tube neat the carburetor, sorry i don't know what it comes off of. And teh end of that braided hose has been clamped and closed off. Thanks and hopefully u can kinda understand

    Im almost ready body-wise to drop in a power plant. I've got a VG30, which I was planning to slot in, but have decided to go with a stock motor, so I can just get the thing back on the road. Thing is, I sold the original one! (oops) So, what I want is a ready to run reco motor, that I dont have to mess about with too much. What I am wondering, is wheres the best place to go, sort of canberra / sydney (maybe melbourne) area? Or should I just keep scouring the Trading Post. Any ideas, plugs welcome.... Oh, I need a box too.... How much should I pay for the lot?
