I have spent the last few months redoing the head on my 73 240, but since its been so long, I have forgotten where all of the ignition wire/coil wiring goes(spark plugs wires are OK). I don't have immediate access to view the inside of another and I've already connected a wrong wire once to the outside of the distributor and burned it! so I'm a little gun-shy. The haynes manual diagram is iffy at best...what I could really use is an actual photo to that area. If anyone has a link to such a photo, I would be eternally grateful... TIA Rich

I am about to replace carbs on my 70 to tripple Delorto carbs. I was wondering if anyone has a "laundry list" of fuel line, hoses, adapters, etc. I might need for this conversion. I currently have the carbs, cannon intake with linkage. I was looking at Earls for lines. Mark

I'm afraid I'm probably not going to like the answer here, but here's the situation. MY '72 started to knock pretty bad today. I havn't had it long so I don't know much about these cars yet(or any for that matter). Anyway there is something making a lot of noise. I think it is coming from inside the block. I pulled the rocker cover off and noticed that the end of the tube that carries oil was broken loose on the end closest to the firewall and not supplying oil properly (ie. not letting it drip down on the valves.) Sorry I dont know what this is called but it is on the passenger side of the engine at the top. Am I screwed or what??? Thanx for the reply.

1972 240Z with fresh rebuilt engine, new distributor, cap, rotor, etc.... Car was driving absolutley fine, until it just died at an intersection. Gas tank is full, battery is new, starter cranks freely, carbs are filling the air with the smell of gas as I try to start the car. My guess is no spark, when i hold the lead wire from the coil to a ground, I dont see a spark. I replaced the coil, and condensor on the distributor with no luck! I just purchased a new ballast resistor for the ingnition coil, and spark plug wires for the hell of it... however the car is like 50 miles away so I want to make sure I cover all the bases before I drive out to fix it, any advice?? what t…

I think my clutch slave cylinder died today... my car grinds into reverse, and I have to strong-arm it into any other gear. It's almost impossible to drive anywhere. Also, my clutch engagement travel is very short, almost instant-on/instant off. This happened right after I replaced my shifter bushings this morning (or should I say "installed" as the rod bushings were totally missing!) I hope this is a coincidence! I was also doing a few other things like ripping out the old AudioVox cassette stereo and replacing the shifter boot... I started her up to drive to the stereo shop, and when I went to put her in gear, I started hearing this wierd high-pitched whine or whistle.…

It appears that i'm missing a wire from the male side of the connecter that connects the VR to the main wiring bundle. I think this is responsible for the amps pegging of the scale when i drive. In other words the more rpms the more amps. I'm sure that when you start the car the amps peak for a bit to re-charge the battery and then kick back down so as not to fry your battery. What i need to know is where this missing wire would connect to that would limit amps. The VR is brand new the wire is missing from the connecter that connects to it. If i could figure out where this wire goes it wouldn't be a problem to hook it up. As you can imagine driving for long periods makes…
