I have been having a brake problem since I replaced the booster and the master cylinder. When the brake pedal is depressed the brakes appear to start workink correctly then as the car slows the brakes no longer hold and the car continues moving with the same amount of pedal pressure the entire time. I have set the shaft length on the booster as required and checked the pedal freeplay and the rear adjustment. Once I had to pull the emergency brake to stop because the normal pedal pressure didn't work properly...it hits a hard spot as normal even though the freeplay seems excessive but further pressure on the pedal does nothing.

Saw your website while looking for info on the 240Z ignition. Could I ask you for some advice? Last night, my '72 240Z simply would not start and I had to have it towed home. The starter cranks OK, but the engine will not fire--not even once. Today I have been troubleshooting it and have isolated the problem as being electrical, somewhere between the ignition switch and the coil. There is no fire coming out of the coil. However, I have been able to start it by "hotwiring" it. When I run a wire from the (+) pole of the battery to the (+) pole of the coil, I can start it normally with the key. It seems to run OK but I'm afraid to run it very long like this as I'm not…

I recently purchase a '73 240z in Denver, Colorado. The car had been stored for the last five or so years with apporimatly two months of driving time over that period. On my return trip to Boise, Idaho, the transmission (automatic) began slippping out of gear. I had the transmission rebuilt, replaced the flexplate, torque converter, and installed a new starter as the old starter was damaging the teeth on the flexplate. While driving the car to break in the reubuilt transmission, I ran out of gas. After putting fuel in the tank, the car would run for a few miles and then stall. I replaced the electronic fuel pump, both inline filters, and blew out the main fuel line. …

My 1973 240z electric fuel pump only operates when the headlights are turned on. My 1972 parts car is wired the same way. The wiring diagram says the lead should run directly to the ignition switch via a 20 amp inline fuse. Am I missing something here?
