Hey mates It appears that the one piece rubber outer hatch seal - the thin one that goes outside - is broken an allowing rainwater in. I've had issues installing these in the past - I've broken two right out of the box when I shut my hatch. Is there a special way of doing these where they don't break? Is there any rubber seals I should avoid? Any place to get OE ones? Cheers Jan

Does anyone have a source for the Amco parcel bar accessory for a 1972 240z? not interested in the bumper overriders or the passenger foot rest but like the idea of the parcel bar.

I'm putting a 78' 280z back together for someone who completely disassembled it and put it in boxes some 5 years ago. I've never seen this car before but It's on a rotisserie and has been painted so really the hardest part is trying to find which part is in which box and figure out what is missing or needs replacement. The first problem I've run into is the fuel piping which was slightly deformed and bent from being off the car and moved around. When putting it on I noticed a "kink" in what I believe to be the Evaporation line near the fuel pump. I've used a compressor and air does blow through it but I'm wondering whether or not I should repair or replace it. Am I co…

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and also ownership of a 240Z. Bought this car less than a month ago and the car is a 3/72 production. I have several questions that hope some of you could help me out with. The car came with a L28 engine (stamped in block are raised numbers reading F54) with what appears to be a 5 speed transmission (not yet know from which car....). I have purchased a correct L24 engine with E88 heads and a Type B 4 speed manual and will be swapping this soon but will highly appreciate your comments and help about this. Specially I cannot figure out if the differential has been also swapped is there any way to find out? Any…

My 1975 280z fuel tank feed hose needed to be replaced and i think the size according to a number of sources say its a 7/16 fuel hose for the feed side that goes to the fuel pump. However, im trying to figure out how to go from a 7/16 size fuel hose to a 5/16 fuel hose that goes to my new electric nismo carburetor fuel pump. Any ideas on how to convert that or is there a reducer of some sort? Tried looking at some barbed reducer ones but haven't gotten an exact match.

I just bought some new headers for my 1974 260z, but they run into some transmission coolant lines. Does anyone know if I would be able to bypass these lines? Or what I could do to get around this problem? It's an automatic and I have removed the air conditioning. Any information would be greatly appreciated. The two horizontal lines in the second picture are what I am talking about.

yesterday was a good day and a very bad day. Took the z to get my restored enkei's put on (pic attached) and the clutch slave cylinder failed in parking lot when I arrived. after putting a new one in haste I didn't tighten down one of the carriage bolts (other pic, pre screw up) that comes out of the transmission housing and it ended up being sucked up into the flywheel when I turned it over and luckily I was able to get it out with the help of a scope and flex magnet but now the 1 bolt doesn't hold the cylinder properly so I need to get new bolts and have them installed. Other option I suppose is tap a bolt where the original one was. Would welcome thoughts on the matter…

Need some help with methods on how to torque down the the axle nut without causing the stub axle to bind against the drum assembly (making contact). When i tight to say 70 foot pounds of torque on the nut the stub axle and bearings spins freely without any binding but when im reaching up towards 100 or more, the outer stub axle with the sealed bearing will start touching metal to metal against the drum assembly and start to scrape when i spin the axle. Any steps im missing here? I tapped the inner bearing first to seat where it was suppose to and then tried to tighten the nut so the stub axle will naturally pull into the inner bearing but that just doesn't seem to work. W…

Hi All, After getting my 280Z running after a fresh rebuild, I have fixed the smokey burnt oil from a valve seat , however it is still running ultra rich. To the point where after a new set of spark plugs it sounds great, then after 3 minutes of running they look like the photo below. What are some of the ways I can Lean out the mixture to get her running spot on??? Hopefully the video link below will give you guys an idea of the engine condition etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! JD

Hi guys! I have an issue I was wondering yall could help me out with. I recently bought a 1971 240z in pretty great condition. Everything ran well when I got it, and the owner showed me the paperwork of all the work he's done. From what I know and how it looks, it's pretty solid. I left for the military, and came back, and now it wouldnt start. It cranks over a bit like how a weak battery tries to start, so I went out and got a new battery. It cranks harder, but it still won't go. I am a straight up novice with this vehicle, so any help would be appreciated. From what I know you need air, spark, and fuel? A buddy of mine tried to start the car while I was away b…
