OK Z Friends! I need your expertise please...and in a hurry! I have a 1972 240 z that is missing the under the horn pad assembly. I have located one from a 77 280 Z, will it work for my 240z? I will not be using the horn pad from the 77, I will be using my 72 240z horn pad. Thoughts? Will it need modification, or will it just plain not work? If not, anyone know where I can locate just the assembly? I'm right at the finish line with my z being ready, but really need this assembly! I'm attaching a picture of the parts I am looking at from the 77 280z. Ok my fellow Zer's , do your thing! Many thanks!!! K The lil z lady

Hi there my dear z friends! i need your help! You have come through for me on this restoration of my 1972 240z, in so many areas, and I need your help once again! I purchased a z appropriate replacement antenna, we installed it today in prep for the Z bash in LA on Friday. So bummed to learn that the new antenna is bad. i plan to put a proper z antenna in upon return from Z Motorsport or the like... but Id like a working power antenna for the trip. I don't have time to get an antenna shipped in time. Any suggestions as to any chain auto parts or auto stereo places that might carry a power antenna I can use. Such as Oreillys.., etc? I'm in Las Vegas …

Well I just bought this car. It's a 1970 240z with a P79 head and a F54 block out of a 81-83 280zx non turbo. The complete engine was rebuilt less than 6000 miles ago by a very reputable Datsun engine builder, Eiji Hosomi, out of Datsun Spirit. When I bought it the PCV was capped with a freeze plug and there was a breather hose coming off the valve cover. This was smokey and stinky since I've had it. The previous owner said that it had always smoked a little but recently had smoked more. Doing a lot of reading I figured I would uncork the PCV hoping to reduce the blow by coming out of the crankcase and setup a catch can with a breather filter on top. I did just that this …

so, i have the front suspension torn out and almost ready for paint. when i removed the compression rods, this is what i found the new bushings from energy suspension look like this my question for those of you who have replaced these parts is this. what kind of washer did you put on the rod between the new bushing and the rubber boot? will too thick of a washer throw the alignment out of whack enough to make a difference? thanks all sb

https://vimeo.com/141010856 Anyone have any input on this sound. I'm not sure if it's the afm flap, or if it has to do with running lean/rich. It's been idling weird. We've replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap, the injectors are all working (I felt the vibration). Any input greatly appreciated! Sent from my Commodore 64 using Tap and Talk

1977 280Z with upgraded alternator and voltage regulator jumped. My gauge in the car will read 14.5v and car starts just fine. If I turn on my running lights, all electronics die out in the car and gauge drops to 0. Turn everything off and wait a while - power comes back on. If I use my turn signals, nothing happens, but if I use my hazards - same thing. All electrics die and voltage reads 0. Same goes for fan. My headlights work, but nothing else does. Even during the "all electrics dead" period, I am able to crank the engine and start the car. Using a voltmeter, my battery gets 13.5v with engine run…

Took the Z to work and back on Tuesday with no problems; Wednesday it won't start. Pulled the starter solenoid wire and hear nothing from the fuel pump. Working my way through troubleshooting so far: there's no voltage across the fuel pump terminals with the key in the start position. Fuel pump relay clicks with the key in start. All the voltage and continuity checks in the EFI Bible are fine. Negative side has continuity with ground, but the fuel pump runs if I give it 12V straight off the battery, so I guess there's an open circuit somewhere on the hot side. Tomorrow I'm planning on working my way through all the wiring, but are there any fuses or anything obvious…

Hi! I am going to be rebuilding my 76 L28 this year and would like to know what pitfalls to be aware of in the process. I am planning on using a P90 solid lifter cylinder head and flat top pistons. I would like to end up with between 10:1 - 11:1 compression. We have 94 octane fuel in my area. This will be a daily driver for my wife and will not be raced or tracked. Aftermarket Exhaust headers will be used and probably a Pallnet fuel rail with 14mm injectors. Thank you in advance for your tips and help. This forum is full of very helpful people!

Hello classic Zr's. I am having fuel pump-electrical/ignition (mystery solution) "issues" with my 1977280. I am trying to find an owner, mechanic or repair shop that has extensive knowledge of fuel pump electrical circuitry. I can provide an in-depth, write-up of everything that been done/results to date...it is a bit lengthy but will be helpful to anyone trying to resolve. I had onsite assistance before Christmas from a Z owner who had got me to where I am but now is not contact ##. I live in the Asheville-Hendersonville NC area. Any contact and assistance in the WNC or upstate SC Greenville/Spartanburg area is greatly appreciated!! my name is Doug . My ema…
