Hi all, I posted this same message under "General-Chit-Chat" but, it's probably more appropriate here. Below is a repeat. I was reading this months Hemming's Muscle Machines and they had an article on ignition timing and A/F ratio adjustments and such. Anyway, they mentioned various tools to get the job done. For measuring the A/F mixture ratio they mentioned Innovative's LM-1 Wide Band Digital AFR Meter. Looks really cool but, I'll admit I'm a total novice when it comes to tools like these. I did some web searching and came across several positve reports on this meter. I was wondering if anyone in this forum has used an LM-1 or other meters like it and what your opini…

Hello everybody. I have a set of SU twin carbs that I know nothing about. I am wondering where the springs on each carb attach to. I heard that it hooks onto a heat shield? What does the part look like? If anybody is not terribly busy and has a digi cam, could they please take a pic for me? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Nathan

I was just curious what the point of the coolant lines were on the carbs. I have not seen them before, but only dealt with down draft carbs in the past. Is this to keep them cool from the exhaust manifold right below? On another not many of the coolant lines on my carbs are cracked or leaking. Can I just replace these with regular coolant hoses or do I need to protect them somehow for the heat? SuDZ

Is there a set up for two mikunis for an l24? What I am trying to ask is if I buy 2 used Mikuni's Can i set it up with a proper manifold or do i need all three? Sorry if it sounds stupid but saw a deal on two so im asking. Thanks

I just recently rebuilt a pair of SU's using the ZTherapy kit and tape (a little pricey but, I learned alot). The rebuild went fine except that now I can't seem to balance the carbs at higher (2000-3000) rpms. They both have the same vacuum reading at idle (about 4-5 on the scale, I'm using syncrometer not a Unisyn) but once I raise the rpms the front carb pegs the meter (30) while the rear carb is still pulling the same amout of air/ vacuum as it does at idle. I've played around with the mixture nuts and, the idle screws (now I know why they only work at idle) but this hasn't changed the balance. I know that there's a screw that is on the linkage near the front carb that…

Hey, does anyone know the difference between the Solex 40 PHH and 40 ADDHE? The Italian guy on ebay has a triple set of ADDHE for tiny $$. I haven't been able to find any info on the ADDHE on an english-language site to see if they'll work Ok for my 260, or if I just need to suck up and drop the large $$ for the Mikunis. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I currently have a Holley 4 barrel setup on my 73 240z. I am selling my holley and going to go with some su's. Is it okay to use my n33 manifolds? Also, what should be blocked and/or setup as far as the emission control stuff. Anyone have any pictures of a properly setup su carb install? Also, do you guys think the ztherapy carbs are worth the money?

I have been looking at replacing the existing SU's on my 73 240 with a Four Barrell Aluminum Intake Manifold from ARIZONA Z CAR and using a Carter AFB #9605 or a Holly 390 600 CFM carb. Has anyone done this and can give me some advice.

ok, this is a big pain in the butt. I am getting spark all the way to the plugs. now, no power to the fuel pump. Wouldn't I hear it turn on when I put the key to on? Also, is the stock fuel pump in the tank? The car is a 240 w/ L28 and T5 trans. SU carbs and distributor module. What the :tapemouth is wrong with my car?? I've finished cleaning my carbs and need to install them. For filling the oil reservoir, I guess 20W oil is what you use? Is there some kind of oil you recommend that's good and maybe has a handy way of putting it in (squirt tip, etc...)? Also, does the flow guide valve effect the engine runs or is it just for emissions control? I noticed that the hose that goes from it to my air cleaner was cracked. I wonder if that was contributing to my car running badly. :classic: :classic:
