Anyone know where these carbs can be purchased new besides MSA (who doesn't sell Mikuni's)? Surprisingly, after much searching, I was unable to find a place to buy 'em. Any help?

This weekend at the track, the Dual SU carbs had a problem, after a 1/2 hr. session on the track and a 45 min cool down period, tried to start car again and then started fuel flooding from both carbs at the same time. Shut off fuel pump, check press. regulator, and also check floats & needles all okay. Dribbling fuel from both carbs, too flooded to start. These SU carbs had lots of work put into them before I got the car, needles raised, jetted, polished, ect. and dependable for previous owner. Could both diaphrams or something internal go bad in both carbs at the same time? No gas additives, 76 Cool Blue 100 octane fuel, and just tried using Marvelous Mystry Oil…

K&N Question

I recently ordered and recieved a set of K&N's from MSA. I have a simple question, at least I think it should be. What do I do with the other hoses that currently connect to the old orange air filter box? Such as the one coming from the valve cover, the big papery hose thingy the rests down below etc. Thanks in advance and I hope I don't sound to much like an idiot asking this.

Hey guys I have a quick question, as I am new to the carb game... Are the three major triple carbs (Weber, Dellorto, Solex/Mikuni) all compatible with Weber's cannon manifold? I've heard that the cannon manifold is not of the best quality. What other manifolds are compatible? I've heard talk of a TWM manifold and a Hayashi one as well. Do you guys have anything to add, subtract, correct or answer? Thanks for your patience.

I have a mechanical feul pump. I have SU's with shaved needles and they are bored out to 50mm. I was told by Rebello that the mechanical fuel pump would be sufficient enough, but at high RPMS, it hesitates, like it needs more feul. there is never any smoke coming out the tail pipe, and If I back off the throttle a little, then punch it again, and I can take it up to the red. My rotor is a little worn, but it feels like a fuel issue. Anyone have any comments??? What kind of psi difference is there between the mechanical pump and the electric. I looked by my feul tank and notice a couple of wires that look like they could be used for the power for an electric feu…

Hi all, is it correct that at a '72 Z's Mikunis the rear carbs float level is higher than the one at the front and that the rear's needle is about 2 mm shorter than the one at the front? Thanks Rolf

My "Z" project is coming along fine. My daily driver is being a bit obstinate. I have a '87 sentra it seems to run fine until you shut it off in hot weather only. The fuel in the filter sucks back into the tank only when the temp is above 100. I have replaced fuel cap, all lines, fuel pump, purge canister and control valve, fuel filter and tank screen. It appears that the car starts and will run until all of the fuel in the carb bowl is used. I have to prime the carb six or seven time for the fuel to get back to the filter, then the car runs great until I shut it off again if it is still hot. If it is cool or in the evening the problem doesn't happen. I also tried to run …

As a new 73 Z owner, I am wondering if you change carbs from the flats to the round: do you need an adapter plate, or new intake manifold: or perhaps they just bolt up. sorry for my ingnorance on this, but would like to know before I invest any $. thanks for any input. gil

I was hoping you guys might be able to clear something up for me. I read that by putting the carb intake manifold on your 240 it may increase the hp by a tad. Has anyone done this and does it make a difference? If not a HP gain is there a benifit to swapping out the stock 240z's for the 74 260's? Also is there any place that lists the carb intake manifolds model number that was on the different years of z's. I wondering about this so I would be able to tell if I was buying the right one. Thanx in advanced, Bart 1971 240Z
