Hey guys , I guess I’ve been away from carbs too long and now I can’t work on them . A customers car that hasn’t really run yet since rebuild . Trying to set my float levels and using a float sync tool to help assist . The problem I’m having is that I have one carb that wants to be ole faithful . Even if I adjust it for a low fuel level it will eventually overfill. I am using a Holley Black fuel pump that is rated for 4-7 psi . I also installed a Mr Gasket inline fuel pressure regulator set at 2psi . I had an extra needle and seat laying around and swapped it out , no difference . The carbs were lightly rebuilt with new needle and seats from Z Therapy . Not sure wh…

So here in the US, they used P/N 16354-N3310 needles in the flat top carbs in 73 and 74. The parts manuals says they used the same needle for both years. Then in America they changed out the carbs completely in favor of fuel injection in 75, but I know that's not the case in other parts of the world. So I'm wondering if they used the same needles in flat top carbs in other parts of the world from 73 to 78. Did they use the 16354-N3310 globally, or did they use something else? So do any of you non-US enthusiasts have any experience with this? Off the top of my head, just tagging people (not in the US) I can think of? @kats @EuroDat @dutchzcarguy @Gav240z …

I'm trying to bring my '71 back to as close to original as practicable. I went to ZCar Depot and ordered two-wire hoses clamps. The rad and heater clamps worked fine, but the fuel-line clamps just won't tighten down on the rubber 5/16 hoses. They tighten, but no much that you can't easily twist them on the steel lines. Apparently the original fuel hoses had a bit greater o.d. than do modern hoses. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I felt a little deflated when I first saw my 260Z because according to the documentation, the car once was equipped with triple Webers. By the time I got it, the Webers had been replaced with round-top SUs. The SUs are working fine and I rebuilt them a couple of years ago with components from Z-therapy. The engine is a bored 280, with non-stock pistons, cam, headers, etc. so I thought the SUs might be limiting the engine. The SUs are so simple that I don't know if I should consider them elegantly designed or an overly simplistic approach to carburetor design. I've rebuilt typical American carburetors in the 70's so I am comfortable with complex carburetors that lack an oi…

Greetings, I am getting closer to dropping a rebello with SU carbs into my 77’ 280Z. I removed the EFI cables and EFI computer out of the vehicle. Will removing the EFI computer and cables affect any other operation of the vehicle or am I good to go since I’m using carburetors? any insight would be appreciated!.

For the sake of documentation, below are two (2) Accelerator J rods. I cannot determined the original model/production year, since the parts were included in a box of parts I previously acquired. Keith

Hello, greetings, i hope everyone is doing fine. I have a question, well, actually a request and a question, first the request (to the administrators of the forums), since the 4 barrel, downdraft adaptations are not that rare among S-30 enthusiasts, wouldn´t it be nice if they could have a dedicated subforum just like the SU and Mikuni ones? and for my question, I have plans to install an Arizona Z car manifold and a Holley 390 in my ´72 240 (the rest of the engine will be left pretty much stock) Will the mechanical fuel pump provide enough fuel for the Holley? or should a switch to an electric one?(obviously with the correct specs) Thank you in advance

I'm installing a fuel rail with a gas tank return on an SU fuel system. A PO removed the original fuel rail and set the fuel system up as a dead head which is causing some vapor lock issues when the car sits between auto cross runs. The issue I'm having now is how to attach the aluminum fuel rail extrusion. There are four 10mm bolt holes on the cylinder head (circled in red), two wire loom screws, and valve cover bolts as possible mounting options. The cylinder head bolt holes would be a good option except that they are so close to the intake manifold flanges that I'm not sure they will be something I could use for mounting. Also, is there any off the shelf fixture …

Ok, I got the 240z running after several years. I cleaned up and went through the SUs. I used the ZTherapy video as my guide. I initially chased some vaccum leaks, and got the idle down from 1250 to 1050, which also took care of the lean condition. Both carbs are synced and pulling 10 on the sync tool, but I can't get the idle any lower. The idle screw is completely backed out on the front carb. The choke and linkage is disconnected. The AFR gauge is in the 12s at 1050, so it's not a lean condition. I put a vaccum gauge on the intake, and its pulling 18 which is in spec I believe, so I don't think I have any major vaccum leaks at this point. My timing is 10 degre…

So, here I go again.......... It's fuel pump time again. I parked my car for the winter, and I have moved it a few times during the winter, going from one garage to another.... So, yesterday some construction work was being done at the house, so I wanted to move the z out of the way. It sputtered so I just pushed it out of the garage. When I went to put back in, It would not start. I thought it was cold, so I changed the plugs and tried again. Nothing. Cranks over fine. So I pulled the fuel line off the fuel rail and no gas came out after cranking it....... Fuel filter looks empty.......... So, is there a good fuel pump available now days? I few years ag…

Hi Friends I have mounted an electric fuel pump from Zcar Depot on my 240Z and would like to hear where you have take 12V from ? I hope it's possible to take it directly without any relay.
