It looks like most SU rebuild kits come with two gaskets, needle valve, hose, and 6-7 round washers/gaskets of various sizes. Exactly where are those 6 round washers used?

I have been ask to help install a Holley 4 Barrel 8006/390 carburetor and it's linkage on a Clifford intake. The car is a 73 240Z. A Lokar throttle linkage kit was purchased from MSA. If my memory serves me, the Clifford intake has provisions for a water lines. Where should I connect the water lines going to and from the intake? Also, can I mount the carburetor in either direction, front to back or sideways. I have an Arizona Z Car intake with a Holley mounted transverse (side to side) on my 260Z. My intake is open where the Holley mounts to it and does not have a divider. Is the Clifford open on top like my AZC intake? Any other thoughts on this Clifford intake …

Working on my car today, and I left the return line off where the hard line hose goes into the rubber hose by the fuel filter. Started the car, and a steady stream of fuel came out. Is that normal? I always thought that was an air vapor line? I did not realize that the hose going from the hardline hose that is the return line down on the frame rail had any pressure? I don't even remember checking to see if those clamps were tight....... IF that is not normal, I could use some advice..........

I just received a rebuild kit from one of the Z parts sites and it had two different needle valves in it. One is taller than the other. Could there be a reason for two different sizes? I didn't notice until I installed it and tried to adjust the float.

I called Z Therapy, but they are 11 months out on rebuild exchanges. Then texted Paltech http://paltech1.com/how-to-order/ No response. Then contacted https://www.sucarburetors.com/services They don't work on Hitachi's Next on my search is this company: https://www.applehydraulicsonline.com/collections/datsun/products/copy-of-datsun-tokico-master-cylinder-tokico-sleeved-and-re-built-1 Looks to be an option. 5 stars on google reviews. Anyone else here use them?

The PO removed the banjo and fuel inlet fittings to the Su carbs on my 71 240z and put on some funny looking braided hose junk. I would like to know if anyone supplies the original ones. Been looking but have had no luck

I got a l28 that had dual Webber’s on it I fully rebuilt the Webber’s and got a colortune. I was having issues with the front 3 cylinders running lean no matter were the mixture screw was did compression test all within 2 psi at 150 I swapped in a rebuilt pair of su with good throttle shafts with no leaks new floats and set at .55 balanced carbs with flow meter. I had n54 needles in it I could get the back 3 cylinders to go rich at idle with the mixture screw the front still no luck. I readjusted the front carb float level higher to try and get it richer with same results. Then swapped in sm needles and I’m still can’t get the colortune to show yellow. I checked for vacu…

Hi all Wondering if any of you gurus can direct me to a fastener supplier that would have oem equivalent fasteners for my SU rebuild? For example the PO had stripped all the dome screws, I ruined the bowl drain plug and float lid screws on one float bowl. I ruined the throttle flap screws on one SU. Also struggling to find somewhere that supplies new throttle shafts, mine are worn into the brass. And before anyone says ask the guys at ztherapy, I did and they said they don't supply fasteners. Didn't ask them about the throttle shafts. Ryan

I have a question which has not been answered. Can one or two spark plugs that have been fouled due to traffic jam meaning some minutes of idle cause some random misfire? The reason i ask this is because the other day i experience some random misfire at 2nd and 3rd gear while cruising for a while after the engine experienced some idle during short stops and suddenly as i accelerated the misfire went away. Where should i look into? Im still considering it its worth replacing the fan clutch with twin electric fan to solve this issue or should i simply forget about this.
